Question about Cymbal Add-on for RB2 drums

Hi Everyone,
I hope this is in the right area. This is the only area I ever come to really. So I bought the triple cymbal pack and attached them to my RB2 drums. It came with a red knob too and I'm not sure why, but my problem is that whenever I hit the green hard, it gets 2 notes out of it, which is messing up the game for me. I tried using the spare foam washer that you put on top of it before screwing the knob down and that helped a bit, but I was wondering if any of you had any experience with making these cymbals perform better? I was thinking of using some material to tighten them up more, but I'm not really sure what to do....any help would be appreciated...thanks!
