|
|
This is something I've ALWAYS wanted on the RB side. Kawigi has a nice little formula to calculate the 1/2/3/4/5/gold star ratings, and (I'm pretty sure) he could easily extend them to include 7 and 8.
One thing I'd like to note though, it that (again, I'm pretty sure) that gold doesn't follow the same "pattern" as the first five, which would make 8 star basically impossible. I'd suggest extended the star ratings from 5, to make 8* possible. Obviously this would mean that 6*=/=gold, but honestly, I don't really care, and I'm sure there would be a way to add if the score is GS or not.
Obviously, this would be a lot of work, even with the star formula already known, but personally I enjoy putting in scores on the GH side MUCH more than here because of the extended star ratings. It's something I'd love for the JC and the rest of the staff to seriously consider, because I think it would really ramp up the number of scores inputted on the RB side. Especially with all the DLC, it would be cool to "collect" a bunch of 7 and 8 stars. Please take this into consideration, and if you agree with me, post why, give more reasons! I reaaaaaaally want this feature added to RBSH.

I think this is an excellent idea. Extended star ratings have heavily influenced community involvement and activity on the Guitar Hero side of Scorehero, so it only makes sense to implement it on the Rock Band side as well.
People are still squeezing some of the very first Guitar Hero games due to extended ratings and I think it would a great addition to the Rock Band side. Like Lefty said, some people enjoying "collecting" 8 star scores and 7 star scores, so why not try to appeal to their desires?
I know that I, personally, would benefit from this implementation because it would fuel my dying competitive nature. In the event it can't be added to the site now, perhaps it could be included in the re-write? _________________

I think this is another one of those things that we say "wait until the re-write", whenever that may finally happen. However I'm not a fan of the 6* =/= Gold _________________

I wanna see some blue stars though :| |
I'm just saying that 6 should stay as being gold. Perhaps a different extended star system can be devised whereupon the cutoffs for 7 and up are calculated in a way similar to 6 (gold). _________________

^This exactly is what my thoughts on the matter are. Wasn't the re-write supposed to happen new years this year or something?
