OK, simple terms to remember:

Pitch: a note on the vocal scale
Octave: vocal scale from C to c (high C), and is 8 pitchs in size
Falsetto: singing out of the vocal range (aka either too high or too low for your normal range)

I sing really high and weird, in a funny voice. Got either 4 or 5 stars on every medium song first try, and could get 5 if I was actually trying.

The "Funny voice" gives me really good control over pitch... my normal range I miss some notes on, so singing high and weird (when no ones home) is the way to go

So it's normal for everyone else to sing best when using falsetto too? I can't sing worth shit unless it's I'm doing it in falsetto. Now if only everyone was out of my house more often so I could practice without fear of laughter.

probably easier for most to sing falsetto - though I have heard some people with a really weak falsetto. However, there are several songs where you may simply not be able to get that low in a falsetto. Just sing however (falsetto, etc) and whereever (octave) is easiest for you to control the pitch of your voice and make a clean sound. I've actually started experimenting with singing everything in a baritone voice (1 or 2 octaves down on all songs)..and find it fun and challenging...some of those phrases and octave or two down is loooow.
