You should attach it to a practice pad such as this: http://www.guitarcenter.com/Gibraltar-GBDP-Bass-Drum-Pad-100253641-i1139033.gc _________________

you could always make your own practice pad out of a box or something, quite a few people have done that in the show off your drumset thread. _________________

check out my sexy ass pedal
EDIT: i made some changes, i took off all the extra tape, and repositioned the sensor, now i am just going to raise the beater slightly, and i am using a shoe box with a guitar amp keepin it from moving, it all works great!
definitely would recommend this to all drummers. |

That sound is probably from the bottom of the footboard slamming into the hoop clamp. You can try a rubber door stopper, like Rock Pedal uses, or put some foam or something on the clamp to cushion the blow.
The best way, of course, would be to put a beater on the pedal and have that beater hit something. That stops the footboard before it can get low enough to hit the clamp. _________________

i didn't feel like looking through 31 pages, so i'm not sure if anyone asked this or not, but: would a hi-hat pedal work as well? _________________

Just get yourself a Pearl P900 and use that. _________________

Can you use the stock Rock Band pedal sensor and the stock magnet? |
