|
|
Quote: | Harmonix’s bi-weekly Rock Band podcast was released today, and with it came an announcement of several major artists coming to the Rock Band Network. They’re listed below, but this should more fuel on the fire that if you are not satisfied with the DLC tracks each week, try to get in touch with your favorite band and tell them to start putting their tracks on the RBN! OK, here’s the artists that we can start looking forward to!
* All That Remains – Three tracks from them, including the first song they recorded an acoustic version of (I’m assuming it’s “Forever In Your Hands”)
* Evanescence
* The Stills
* Ministry – Tracks off of the first half of “The Last Sucker” album
* The Shins
* Flight of the Conchords |

No surprise at The Shins, since they're part of Sub-Pop, but damn, those are indeed some big names. I didn't think we'd be getting such big names in the RBN.
Also, seeing ATR there helps fuel my theory that by the time of its launch, RBN will have every GHI/II bonus song on it. |

The Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiins, woo!
Okay yeah, I love that band. Give me Phantom Limb and I'll never complain about anything ever again.
Dubious about ATR, I figure it's all either going to be as excruciating as Six or as good as Chiron... there doesn't seem to be much in between.
Flight Of The Conchords can jog on. _________________

Acoustic version of "Forever In Your Hands"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hnb-FQMQRDQ
No bass or drums, might be the first song missing 2 instruments.
If they were smart, they'd use Six as one of the other songs, which they could just copy the chart from gh2 if they really wanted to. |

They said the first song they recorded an acoustic version of. That doesn't mean they are using that acoustic version for RBN. It was just a hint about what song it was - the first one they had recorded an acoustic version of. |

Ministry perks me up a wee bit, but even though I kinda like Ministry, their stuff wasn't the best to play with their last batch. Good to listen to, but playing wise a bit repetitive.
Still waiting to see if any bands I like step up for this outside of the few songs I'd get from Dream Theater. |

Wow, that's seriously awesome right there. I mean, I'm all for RBN giving less-heralded bands an opportunity to be discovered and all... but that other Big Known Acts might actually be using it to release hits from their back catalogs, too? That's super, too, and gives hope that [cool band here] will also get around to releasing [song that would never make the 'real' DLC roster in eons] at some point.... _________________

Ministry is a big plus in my book, though I assume no Jesus Built My Hotrod, which makes me a bit sad. ATR is another plus, along with Conchords. _________________

My girlfriend will be excited for Evanescence, but I'm just excited to see that bigger bands are planning to utilize RBN! _________________
