I'm very pleased by the selection this week, it's all very relevant to me! Can't wait to try my one hand alt tapping method on SWTA. I wonder if it works in RB too! _________________

I just downloaded the Satriani songs, 4 starred Satch Boogie on my sightread and 5 starred Surfing With the Alien. They were hard, but fortunately SB has already been FCed by Ukog.
Who wants to get Surfing With the Alien? _________________

yeah so SWTA is easier to pass than the GH version (assuming you have a strat), and the Sack Boogie might replace Caprici as the hardest song to pass.
and what's up with the drum chart for Satch, is it correct? (minus the intro which is pretty badly done) _________________

For those who care, here's the Hard chart for Satch Boogie guitar:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DmcPa69QyJE
Both Satch Boogie and Surfing with the Alien are MUCH easier than their GH couterparts. In Rock Band they feel much more like actual Hard (the difficulty) charts instead of Expert. I liked playing and FCing them very much today. _________________

Huh. Andres is much better than I remember it being. Might get that next time I get points.
Also... What's My Age Again?: censor "bitch" but not "sodomy"? Lololololololol. _________________

Satch Boogie and The Metal are all must-gets for any guitarist. Surfing With The Alien's alright, but it just doesn't compare to SB and TM. Also The Metal is one of the best songs I've ever played on drums, and Satch Boogie is probably one of the hardest, despite it being in like the Challenging tier. This has been one of the best DLC weeks for me in a long time, and I'm glad they don't come around more often or else I'd be broke Not like I pay for my own Wii points anyways... |

Icarus is the surprise hit of the week and a contender for best song released this year. It's tremendously fun, too. Don't overlook this one. |

I was expecting a lot out of this week, but I think it may have actually exceeded my expectations from the videos I watched. I haven't seen the Satriani or Brutal Legend songs yet because I know I'm getting them (there's a code for the Brutal Legend songs if you buy the game at Best Buy, right?) and want to go for true sightreads when they hit PSN store on Thursday, but I was pleasantly surprised by how fun the other songs looked.
I watched half of Icarus before deciding it looked awesome on both guitar and drums and that I want to sightread the rest of it. Black Tide and the other Kansas song look reasonably fun too, and even Blink-182, which I expected to have no interest in whatsoever, looked pretty fun on drums. Andres was the only song this week that didn't interest me at all, and even then, it doesn't look awful. Definitely a great week overall. |

The Satch songs are like prison rape.
You know it's coming, and you think you're ready, but when that solo hits you, you are NOT ready. |

Wow ended up getting more songs than I thought I would based off of my first glance last week at the list.... ended up getting 5 songs, which is the most I've picked up in one week since like Iron Maiden o_0. Was expecting SWtA to be hard to pass based on what everyone's been saying but it was actually a very easy pass with star power + alt strumming >_> Still, awwwesome guitar week all around ^_^ _________________
