In celebration of our good friends at Double Fine putting out Brütal Legend on Rocktober 13th we have a 3 pack of tracks from their soundtrack - Motörhead, Tenacious D, and Testament. If you'd like to hear more about the music in Brütal Legend we have a sweet interview with creator Tim Schafer on our brand spanking new bi-weekly podcast which you can find here on our podcast page (there's also an interview with Claudio from Coheed and Cambria!)

“These are three great songs that totally capture the feeling of Brütal Legend. I can’t wait to play them in Rock Band,” said Tim Schafer, founder of Double Fine Productions. “I’ve air-drummed to all of them so many times, I’m sure I’ll be able to beat them on hard mode, no problem. Or at least on medium. Like medium plus. That’s a setting, right?”

But the fun doesn't stop there Because we also have tracks from Black Tide, Blink-182, Joe Satriani, Kansas, and L7. We also have a track from Pearl Jam and one from Foreigner hitting Rock Band: Unplugged.

HAPPY ROCKTOBER!
Sean

I knew there would be a tie-in to Brütal Legend this week. Love it, will be getting Road Crew and The Metal.

The Satch picks are awesome too... But why am I a tiny bit bummed Satch Boogie is there? Awww well...

/me goes back to holding out for Circles.

You know, I just thought. Two Satch songs leaves room for something in Rock Band 3 or something. Crowd Chant perhaps? It has a Vocal part! =D

*cringes* I still haven't passed Satch Boogie in GHWT.

In the meantime, more Motorhead and Black Tide = win.

GODDAMN IT.

HMX gets the chance to put up some more metal, some real gritty, in-your-face THRASH, and they pick these three songs. Not that I don't like those three (well, that Motorhead song is horrible), but they could've gotten so much better songs for this. AND they got the wrong Testament song from that album. I've got two other songs that should've been on the game instead of More Than Meets The Eye:

It looks like the RB gods are done appeasing me (some really great songs that have been on top of my list got released recently), but I'm still relatively happy with this week. Joe Satriani is nice, live Kansas is fucking sexy, and everything else is ok. Great week overall, but a little disappointed over the Brutal Legend picks.

EDIT: I rescind my comment about We Are The Road Crew; I gave it another listen and liked it. This week has my 93% support.

OMG I CAN SELL WORLD TOUR NOW! (and get guitar hero 5)

Freaking..I wasn't expecting to get anything this week. But What's My Age Again, 2 songs from freaking Kansas, 2 songs from freaking Satriani (though both GH repeats)...

I love you HMX.

And LOL @ the Tim Schafer quote. Man's a freaking genius.

Oh shit, it's Joe Satriani, son!

Don't much care for Andres or What's My Age Again?, but everything else is very, very cool. We Are the Road Crew was the best song off that GH3 3-pack they had, The Metal is always a blast to play, More Than Meets The Eye is a cool song even though it regrettably has nothing to do with Transformers, Show Me The Way should be crazy in some fashion, I'm sure, the two Kansas songs sound rather fun, especially Point of Know Return, which was an "OH, that song" moment for me.

Good week, helps pass the time until Queen quite nicely.

Oh my... this is...

WHAT THE FUCK!?

If the trills in SwtA are charted anything like in GH3, we could have a new constant motion on our hands.

Also, Satch will finally be challenging, unlike the slide-fest on GHWT.
Well done to Harmonix for putting the two Satch songs on a good engine!

Also, more Tenacious D?! I already spent my money on Tribute

Why does EA want us to spend all of our money on these songs before we get Queen? NOT FAIR I TELL YOU!
