in my opinion, there is way too much Pearl Jam, but oh well. and as a drummer, having a song with no drums, i feel left out, just like my vocalist now...

I watched the charts and listened to the songs with an open mind, but it looks like I'll be catching up on back catalog stuff instead of grabbing anything from the album.

DLC looks mediocre, time to catch up on back catalog.

This album is not terrible on guitar, but Ten was SO much better.

i'm sure many of you know this already, but for the Pearl Jam fans out there who were planning on picking up this album (not just the DLC), I highly recommend picking up the special edition at target. it's 12 bucks, and comes with a code to download this entire DLC pack for free!

The $30 special edition has the DLC code, not the $12 one. I have the $12 one and it only included two free concert downloads.

I bought "Backspacer" yesterday and sightread it on guitar, with my girlfriend on vocals and my friend on bass. Musically, I loved it. Quite a few of the songs are up-tempo with a good amount of positive energy, and there were a couple that were more moving; "The End" in particular.

Chart-wise, at least for guitar, there wasn't much of anything that was terribly notable, but it did have its moments. "Amongst the Waves" has a solo that kind of comes out of nowhere after playing mostly chords and slow sustains, "Got Some" and "The Fixer" are fun enough, although mostly mid-tempo alt-strumming, and "Just Breathe" has a mixture of HO/POs and chords that felt like a faster "Dear Prudence".

It does seem like quite of the few songs would be great on vocals, though I've yet to SR any of them. Overall, I'd recommend listening to the album first before downloading the whole thing for Rock Band. It seems that we have another "The Cars" or "Doolittle" on our hands, where your enjoyment of the album will largely depend on your enjoyment of the music itself.

That sounds great, but I don't know if anyone will be able to handle a minute long 20+ NPS snare roll.

I have precisely zero interest in anything by Pearl Jam apart from Yellow Ledbetter so I won't be getting this... but I wanted to comment on the song with no drum part. That's a very good sign for the future. If we can have stuff missing parts other than vocals, it opens up pretty much anything.

EDIT: Aaaaand I've just realised there's a whole thread about it in Misc Discussion. Durrr.
