Paths up to date through posts dated prior to 6 Mar 2018 16:55
OP ONLY UPDATED BY REQUEST. PM ME IF NEEDED.

Path Notation Key:
2/ means hit the first activation after you have your overdrive half full.
3/ means hit the first activation after you have your overdrive 3/4 full.
4/ means hit the first activation after you have your overdrive full.
sk# means rather than activating in the first possible window, you should skip # of activation windows and then activate.

AI means hit all activations at the first possible opportunity.
BBM means activate Before Beatle Mania (aka Overdrive)
EwBM means Ends with Beatle Mania that cannot be used.
FRS means Finesse Reverse Squeeze (This means you need to activate early at just the right point to get all the points from phrases sung but not catch the last od phrase)
RS means reverse squeeze, activate as soon as possible. RS! indicates back/select button may be needed.
ES means end squeeze - this means that the activation window is in the middle of the phrase, and the less of the phrase you sing before the window, the more points you get under overdrive.

I Want to Hold Your Hand: 4/sk2 3/

Ended with a score of 169,400 ... mediocre squeezes, can probably get some more out of it.

Wow, I can actually submit a path for once in my life. Hooray!

Paperback Writer: 4/BBM, 2/

Got me first place. Of course now I'm just inviting you squeezers to come in and take it. Doh!

Oh, and BBM = Before Beatlemania (or should we just just stick to BOD :P )

Also, I do believe harmony paths might differ greatly from solo paths. But I guess that bridge will be crossed when we get to it.

The path I used was:

131,776.

It's rather complicated to explain, but on the second to last phrase in the song, don't get all that you can get in the first half. I got more points by activating in the middle of the phrase and getting all of my points on the latter half of the phrase.

I don't have Beatles RB yet, but you can activate mid phrase?

On some phrases yes. You still activate only in specific windows, but those windows pop up if there's a large enough lyric-less gap anywhere, even inside a single phrase. At least that's my understanding of it at this time.

Activating mid phrase ought to spice things up in the pathing department. Most vocalists who have ever been in a full band path setting should be familiar with skipping the front parts of phrases though, so some people might make the adjustment fairly easily. At least it adds something new to squeezing!

This still doesn't make any sense to me.

From what I can tell, 2/sk2 produces the exact same score as 3/, except that you have a lot more leeway with 2/sk2 since it almost-but-not-quite bleeds into the next phrase. With 3/ you get just barely get to the end of the phrase.

As for the 2nd activation, are you counting the "Hey" talky? I am, which is why I notated it as 2/sk1 since there's an additional window behind the "Hey".

I think we're on the same page here otherwise.

Maybe I am mistaken, but I think what Vicro is saying, is don't sing much of the first half of the phrase, that way you can pick up more once you activate. It's like reversing squeezing in a full band setting, like Indestructible says. I don't have the game, so sorry if you know this.

Yeah, from what I understand he is intentionally skipping as much of the first part of the phrase, then activating, then getting most of the 4k squeezed points in the latter half of the phrase because he skipped a lot of the first part of the phrase. This way, he gets nearly all the points for that you would get using Icemage's path, and he gets extra on the end. It's a different concept than anything solo vocal players are used to, so I hoped I explained it well.

Here's another path:

Good Morning Good Morning: 2/sk1, 2/, 2/

Must be good, the results screen said I was first. However, once the leaderboards updated I was second and someone was beating me by 100 points. Either different path or same path and better squeezes.

This is pretty much what I was trying to say. However, I was typing my version at 3:30 AM so I may as well have been legally drunk.

Also, I do mean 2/sk1 for the second activation. I didn't count the talky in the original path, but I will from now on.

Oh, he's talking about the last activation. It's sort of a late-phrase squeeze, very much like what you'd do for a late phrase activation in RB2 full band play. THAT makes sense since you obviously want to spin as much of the pie as possible under Beatlemania (good lord that's a mouthful to type, we need an abbreviation for that ASAP ... BM maybe?).

I'm mostly questioning the notation on the second activation. There's no reason to activate before the "Hey!" since it's not worth any points, which is what "2/" would signify.
