I am now repacking the Mid for "Dead on Arrival" back into the game.
The guitar is all that is made so far, but it's sorta hard to put it in.
GameZelda, think you could use programming to repack mids in, it' really nothing but finding where it starts and where it ends and replacing the mid in between those 2 points.
If it works i'm making a tutorial!
Rock Band customs could be sooner than we thought!
I GOT ONE WORKING
Notes, only and it's just 1 note! But, still, CUSTOM ROCKBAND!
I'm too lazy to write a tutorial, but just try my theory.
YOU MUST REPLACE (songname) and not (songname_short)

umm your a little late, i did the same thing about a month ago,
you, as a matter of fact everyone should look through the .ark files and look for every possible audio file format they could possibly think of,
because after that its just copy and paste, and boo ya custom rock band.

The HDR could be encrypted with Rijndael (AES)
Also, if you look at the end of the ARK, you can see some ASCII characters. The total length (from the first "x" to the last character, another "x", is 258 (bytes). _________________

Yeah, I noticed that.
At the end it's like
362737274372773
383284738483838
Or something.
Could it be a decryption type hint? |

Amazing you guessed it without looking at the code.
Anyway, it looks like Rijndael was used, specifically with
LibTomCrypt 0.70 (look for it in google, you'll find it). |

Can someone post a compiled EXE of this?
GameZelda could do it. |

I think I figured out the channels for Rock Band VGS files.
2 For Guitar
2 For Bass
2 For Vocals
5 For Drums
2 For Song
2 For Crowd Sing-a-long
That's 15 anyway. The other 1 channel could be.....I don't know. |

on a side note, if you extract these vgs files, then could you load them into ghex to burn onto guitar hero 2 with their respective mids?
if so, i realize that on most guitar hero 2 songs you can only have 4 or 5 channels, so are there just 4 or 5 channels you can use in the rock band vgs files that would produce the entire song? |

Could the extra channel left be for the Cowbell/Tambourine in some of the vocal parts, granted it's not in every song but would still need to be coded for use in the ones that it is. |

not that i know anything about this sorts other than playing custom games after people who crack this stuff...but there are 18 different channels, not 16. it makes alot more sense to have 2 of the 3 instruments 2 for band and 10 for drums (one for each pad/pedal) and that does add up to 18. someone already stated this above as well...but what do i know? |
