Anyone playing decent on expert, unmodded pedal, heel down?

Im starting to wonder if its possible to play heel down with a default bass pedal and be successful on Expert.
I tried epic and barely made it out alive.

I just tried Epic on HARD and barely made it out alive. Keeping the heel up kills my foot, but I don't know how else to do it. The double bass is impossible.

I do sometimes, I dont usually play heel down though. Only on slow songs

I always play heel down, I have since I got Rock Band, and I have no problems.

Or at least, I have no problems with the bass pedal.
I still can't beat some of the harder songs, but that's not because of the bass pedal.

I play heel down and can play fairly well. I'm currently stuck on dont fear the reaper on expert, but i've played every other song and have no problems beating them, except for run to the hills.

well I removed my pedal and place it about º45 from me and then have it wedged against my couch to stop it from drifting.
Since I did that I had no prob 5* medium, and im working on 5* hard now.
I think I have a couple from last 2 tiers left. everything is at least 4* except run to the hills, which is a sloppy 3*.

But some songs on expert I do fine like Dani California.
A song can have non stop bass like maps and im fine.
Its when it gets fast with doubles like paranoid, my ankle starts to go like linguini and I start doing the double tap TOO fast and then im TOO slow between the pauses between the batches of basses.
*sigh*
Wooden kitchen chair doesnt help.

I found that I have to be on the right height of chair. Too low and my shin kills me, too high and i get too "stompy"

If you have an office chair with adjustable height, take the back off and try that?

I play heel down and I'm in the top 100 (exactly 100 on Tom Sawyer) on the songs that I went back and played for score. lol
I only have Run to the Hills left to go on expert career.

I suck playing heel up though. lol

i play heel down...just redoing hard atm and got a few firsts
i cant play heel up...im not a drummer though

Nod. It seems all the top players have drumming experience, went for a pedal mod since they have drum pedals available.
And also play heel up with proper seating.

Last I checked, I was 35th on the XBL boards, and I always play heel down. I don't get nearly enough control heel up. I don't even understand how anyone can do heel up

Heel up or down? I don't understand... if heel up is what i think it is, wouldn't that take waay more effort and leg muscle than with it down?
