Warped Tour Pack Guitar Review -

Bad Religion (21st Century Digital Boy) -
Uber Fun. Good rhythms, and some pretty damn fun solos. Good for nailing trill technique down. Best song of the week for guitar out of Warped Tour.

Chiodos (I Didn't Say I Wasn't Powerful, I Said I Was A Wizard) -
No solos, but quite varied. Some fast chordy parts, some fast single notes, and a decending strum note part. Quite good fun for more of a "simple" challenge.

Underoath (Reinventing Your Exit) -
Fun. Not as fun as Chiodos, but still quite varied. Very different from "Desperate Times, Desperate Measures" (Which ranks as one of my least favourite songs to play on guitar ever.). Chords, Single riffs, lack of hammer-ons is noticed, but it depends what you're into. I don't even like underoath, and I found this quite fun to play.

A Day to Remember (Downfall of us all) -
Chordy, but fun. Infectiously catchy, and you'll find yourself enjoying the heavy breakdowns. I imagine this would be a good overall band song for fans. Nothing special for guitar, but not a generic constant paced strumfest.

Escape the Fate (The Flood) -
Guitar is awful here. Generic, constant strumming, 3 note chords in awkward places, no solo, and a fairly long trill section to ruin your fc. I didn't really expect much from this band, they're my least favorite out of the pack, I don't like them at all.

Anyone who is a middle-of-the-road kind of drummer like me will find a very fun challenge in trying to GS each song in the Warped pack. I didn't get any of them on sightread, and both 21st Century and Reinventing Your Exit took several tries to finally get that one good run.

And 21st Century is FUN. Really fucking fun. It reminds me of I'm Gone, I'm Going in that the standard beat is very simple, but there's extremely fun rolls sprinkled all over the place to keep your attention. There's a lot of rolls in the same style of Foreplay/Longtime's outro and C'mon C'mon, and a couple that use double sticking too.

Maroon 5 is strictly for the fans, I'd say. I love the pack to death, but everything except for Makes Me Wonder on Guitar (which is the only one I'd recommend to non-fans, because it's funky fun!) was sightread FC'ed on Guitar/Bass/Drums. Can't comment on the vocals, but I imagine the crowd sing-a-longs on every track could make for quite a fun time as well

Posts like this make my day.

Drums on this pack are really fun, Vox players have a MUST BUY with maroon 5, and everyone should get Pearl Jam

Yup, they are talkies at the beginning, and the whole band is singing them.
