I just thought of two other (Canadian) underrated bands that would be cool as DLC or something.
The Trews. I think a few of their songs got released on RBN but the song I'm thinking of is Hope And Ruin. It'd be really fun on Vocals/Harmonies and Guitar. Highway Of Heroes is another good tune, that song kind of reminds me of that Rise Against song called "Hero Of War"
The next band is The Watchmen. A Couple of songs that are fun to listen to are Boneyard Tree and All Uncovered. All Uncovered has a sick harmonica solo that I really like, along with a pretty cool bass line and a guitar riff that reminds me of Stellar by Incubus and Boneyard Tree is a nice heavier track. Also, Stereo is a pretty cool track which would be fun on vocals.
Edit: 800 posts ftw. _________________

I think Angel Eyes by The Jeff Healey Band would be a fun song on guitar, vocals, maybe drums. It's a slower one for sure but a very good song. Also could pay tribute to Jeff Healey, who we lost nearly 10 years ago. _________________

Dream Theater
Megadeth
Iron Maiden
Metallica
Twisted Sister
Symphony X
King Crimson
Animals As Leaders
Various 80's thrash metal bands (Testament, Exodus, Kreator, Overkill, etc...)
Those are the only bands that I care about when it comes to DLC. The huge lack of DT songs is painful. Megadeth...yeah we have enough songs by them to fill an entire Rock Band: Megadeth game, but...they're my favorite band, so I'm biased as hell. Plus a lot of their albums and good songs haven't even been used yet. In My Darkest Hour, Set the World Afire, Fatal Illusion, Skull Beneath the Skin, a bunch of songs off Endgame and Thirteen, United Abominations (Burnt Ice lol), System Has Failed, heck even World Needs a Hero would have some really fun tracks to play in RB. You can never have too much Megadeth.
Iron Maiden is the same thing. The fact that we had a Green Day Rock Band game before an Iron Maiden one bothers the hell out of me, and really makes no sense. Iron Maiden would have sold more, they are arguably a bigger band than Metallica, Aerosmith and Van Halen, and the game would have been extremely fun on all instruments. Like Megadeth, you can never have too much Maiden.
Metallica...I really just want stuff from Hardwired and Death Magnetic. A lot of their old stuff has been covered already in Guitar Hero. Though I would LOVE for them to release Blackened, Ride the Lightning and AJFA again as DLC because I missed out on it back in the day. Those three songs are top 25 Metallica imo, and the fact that NONE of them were in Guitar Hero Metallica, yet they put One in there yet again, as well as Ace of Spades for the 20th time, really pisses me off. I want to play them!
Twisted Sister...are a very criminally underrated band from the 80's glam metal period that I think have a lot of great music that would be fun to play. Burn in Hell, Shoot 'Em Down, Stay Hungry, The Price, The Kids Are Back, etc...yeah their songs would be pretty easy, but they're fun as hell to listen to and rock out to. We need more Twisted Sister!
Symphony X is just insane. Their music would wreck the world in Rock Band. We had a song by them kind of recently, but I have't heard the new album. We need stuff from Iconoclast in there.
King Crimson is just legendary. They have so many amazing songs outside of 21st Century Schizoid Man.
Animals As Leader...just listen to it. 'Nuff said.
I put various thrash metal bands in my list because I really just want more thrash outside the big 4. We've had some great ones from Death Angel, Exodus, Testament, Lich King and a couple others I can't remember, but it's so few and far between. We've never had Overkill, Kreator, Sodom or Destruction in any music game yet and that makes me sad inside. such an overlooked genre that gets swept under the rug because it never hit mainstream outside the big 4.
Also shout outs to Death and Cacophony. SPEED METAL SYMPHONY! Also, why Painkiller hasn't been added as a full album yet is criminal. |
