I do not know if this belongs under "Website Discussion"
It involves the Note Charts, but it doesn't have to do with OD...

I thought someone said something like this, (I used the search button!).

I know the Note Charts are "Works in Progress, Might be Faulty", But
I want to know why there are notes where the "B.R.E." is supposed to be and how did you get them?

PS: If anyone knows where
(A) The dude who said this,
(B) The answer to this,
(C) The right place this post belongs,
or (D) Where the bathrooms are. /joke

Please inform me,
Thanks.

Since the note charts are something produced by ScoreHero, for the community, I believe this is the right forum

Oh, and the Big Rock Ending notes are impossible to get, I think they are just the charted versions of what the Big Rock Ending's music actually sounds like, only charted from the midi. Granted, I am far from privy to the custom scene, and I haven't the faintest clue what the deal is with those notes, but I am pretty sure that the notes are in the original note charts, and the BRE that we see while playing the game is an overlay that counts as hitting every note, with the point value determined by how fast you flail on the buttons/strum bar/d-pad. I think that the note charts were made and the Big Rock Ending goes over the notes. And since the note charts on ScoreHero are made using GHex, I am pretty sure that is just what the extracted note chart looks like, without the overlay

In short, the notes can't be hit, and overdrive has no bearing on your BRE score. You can't even witness the notes in Practice Mode, so I am certain you can't get to those notes without hacking the game.

Im just talkign to myself out loud here, but It would be nice if there was an option to turn those off and get the actualy underlyign notes. On guitar at least (they are somewhat more fun on drums), the big ending is just a wank-fest of pointless strumming and button mashing that you basically end with more or less the same points no matter what, actually having those notes to hit would be so much better and more fun way to finish songs, me thinks. My brain just turns off whenever i see the big rock ending part come onto the screen.

i believe if you are playing multiplayer and someone fails out at least once that you don't get the BRE

I always assumed that if someone failed in Multiplayer near the end of the song and couldn't do the BRE, then the other players would play those notes rather than the BRE.

Untrue, a failed player gets to do the Big Rock Ending with the rest of the band
