I haven't played anything on drums yet, and I can't speak for vocals, but so far for me it looks like, surprisingly, the winner of the week is the Richard Thompson track. Both the guitar and the bass are the best of the week by miles. Expected the guitar to be great, but the bass gets some really fun and tricky playing near the end. Really glad I picked it up.

Whoops, crossposting from the previous thread, in case anyone missed:

Quote:
Bass, for those that care:
All I Want
The Kids Aren't Alright
Losing My Religion
The Way That It Shows

The two Offspring songs are pretty standard, Losing My Religion is easy but has an annoyingly high GS cutoff, and The Way That It Shows starts off easy but turns out to be super awesome.

I had a chance to play Losing My Religion, All I Want, and The Kids Aren't Alright this morning on guitar. All very simple, but in the "simple but fun" category for me.

I was loading the Richard Thompson track as my cab pulled up, so no comments on that yet. :p

Played all the songs on drums, and I have to say that All I Want is pretty disappointing for me. It's hard, sure, but it's not terribly fun for me, mostly because of the stick movement which is really dull. Hammerhead had tricky bass too, but at least it had some GREAT fills and all around stick movement to go along with it.

Again however, The Way That It Shows was my personal winner on another instrument. It's not great at first, actually it's really boring and simple at first like bass, but it picks up and gets a pretty good bit of variety during the guitar solo. No expert player is going to struggle with it, but as difficulty is the least important thing to me for songs even though it can add something to them [as it can also completely ruin them], the Thompson track is probably the only track I will revisit over and over on all the instruments. And since the guitar and bass are far and away the best in this track this week and I don't think anyone would deny that, I think it's the song to buy if someone only buys one song, unless you can't get past the vocals, I guess.

The Kids Aren't Alright and Losing My Religion are okay on drums, more so if you like the songs since the beats are pretty basic for the most part.

This week is definitely a case of more fun to listen to than play for me. Vox, however, will be pretty awesome on RB nights at the bar.

incredibly fun pack to play (guitar wise), but the vocals in The Way It Shows are downright annoying and awful

The guitar is absolutely awesome though. Thank goodness there's no vocals during the lengthy solo.
