How to score the most points in the Big Rock Ending

Well, I did some experimenting with the big rock ending on guitar, and here's what I found out. Every time you hit a note in the BRE, you'll get a certain amount of points, I think it differs on every song. But, when you strum a note that isn't on the color you just strummed on (i.e. you strum green then switch to red and strum) then you'll get more points on the first note. Therefore, the best way to get the most points is to strum a different note every time. So I figure the best way to do this is have your fret hand and strumming hand go down to the solo buttons, and have your strumming hand take care of orange and blue, while the other hand is pressing green, red, and yellow. Just go nuts on those buttons, and you'll get yourself a good amount of points.
