Its a little more loose since there isn't a hammer to swing. It bounces back and quick hits can be achieved by putting the hammer on, but it can get hard to control quickly. |
Mabye you could attach a spring or two on the block of wood? _________________

Hmmm....
Im not to smart on how electronics and stuff works.
but would this:
http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Roland-KD8-Kick-Trigger-Pad?sku=449921
actually conenct to the input on the back of the rockband drums and work?
I don't know how those things work (the trigger pedals) and I am not familiar with their cables and what not.
Also, how do you think getting one of those practice blocks for the kick pedal and mounting an acoustic trigger to it and running that to the rockband bass input would work?
I guess I don't really understand what kind of signal tells the rockband kit to activate the bass drum to start with.
For example, could you plug a microphone into the input of the rockband bass pedal input and activate it by tapping on the microphone? |

does the speaker wire have to be any specific type? does it have to be 2-color? I have the plain old pinkish colored speaker wire that i use for surround sound speakers, has two connection parts. would that work as well? when it come to connecting to the button and the stereo plug, what has to be negative/positive? any kind of help u can give me would be greatly appreciated. thanks _________________

just seems like so much work... when you can just buy a dang kick drum trigger for $50 which already attaches to a real kick pedal...
this rig looks like it has alot of collision aspect which has to be sure and break down sooner or later...
buy this...
http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Pintech-K3-Ergokik-Kick-Trigger-with-Inverted-Beater?sku=444880&src=3SOSWXXA
attach it to a kick pedal...
plug it in with a standard patch cable with a 1/8 to 1/4 reducer... done.
unless its spending the $60 that you have a problem with.
but it cant get any better than this... cuz this is the real thing... and this trigger supports a double kick pedal.
kudos for a job well done... but these things already exist... this wheel has already been invented... and its available in a refined, complete, low cost package.
nice job on the video too.. i laughed at the failure part where you slowed down the audio... haha that stuff always cracks me up... |

Is there any springiness to the pedal with this? Part of playing fast bass drum is controlling the rebound off of the base drum.
I'm wondering if using this mode but still having the beater hit a drum (like my edrum bass - pintech drum mounted on a stand that the bass pedal hits) will still acitvate that button while also giving you the bounce back off the drum.
BTW: nive video DeepBlueVibes. |

if you have a pintech drum... thats a trigger... so instead of running the patch cable from the drum to your drum brain... run it into the back of the rockband drumset... you dont need the block of wood with the button... that is doing the job of a real trigger.
youll probably just need to get a reducer so it can plug in...
thats a trigger right there... normally you run a patch cable into your drum brain and it produces a kick sound when its hit... now the RB drum pad is your brain... so just plug it in and you should be set. |
