Ok, now I am online with a wireless connection through my cell phone company (desktop connection). I still cannot get on xbox live however. I have a router and an ethernet cable going from the desktop tower to the router and a cable from the router to the 360. But still no sucess getting on live. I'd greatly aprecciate some advice. |

Test your connection in the dashboard and tell me which one it fails at. _________________

It doesn't work like that hun. You can't just have an ethernet cable going from your desktop to the router. _________________

No, your cables need to go from the MODEM to the ROUTER to the XBOX. |

WALL ---> MODEM
MODEM ---> ROUTER
ROUTER ---> COMPUTER
ROUTER ---> XBOX _________________

If you are using a wireless internet card on your desktop you need to get a wireless card router. Kyocera makes one but it costs around $250. ther may be other ways and cheaper modems but This will work. |

Ok, I THINK I understand what you are trying to do...
1. Wireless Device (ie: Cell Phone) is your MODEM
2. Wireless Device Connected to Desktop.
3. Desktop Connected to Router
4. Router Connected to 360.
5. No XBL
Am I correct?
If that is the case, possibly try
1. Connecting the Wireless Device to the router's "WAN" or "Internet" port
2. Cables to 360 and Desktop from Router.
This MAY work... _________________

if your connecting your xbox to a pc/laptop, you have to turn on ICS(internet connection sharing)
at least i think that is what this topic is about.... _________________

Have a solution for you!
I asked around to my colleagues, as I am in an IT Help desk.
Go into network connections, select BOTH adapters(your air card and your ethernet adapter), right click, and bridge them.
This should get you going. _________________

In my askings at the desk here, ICS is a ROYAL PITA to set up, bridging the connections is MUCH easier. My initial idea was ICS ans a coworker immediately suggested bridging. _________________
