kinda short notice i just found out about it i need a bnad for rockband 2 tourny in nyc i play guitar and bass on expert i can do drums some on expert and hard and vocals i cant do it on easy haha so if any1 wanna try to win with me let me no $5 a person $20 a band cash prize
its sat oct 4th in union square i will get the address if people seem intrested |

where/when is this tourney. i live in brooklyn. i play expert everything. preferably drums. i also have a friend who live near me and plays expert gtr bass. let me know the details of this tourney. where did you hear about it?!? i wanna go!!!

just got off the phone with the Play N Trade at union square...
Apparently its a GUITAR HERO tourney but they will have Rockband playing as well. Starts at 1pm but try to be there earlier to sign up (about 12-1230pm).

OKAY! so i just got off the phone with Chris from Play N Trade in Union Square. And he gave me tons of details about the tournament.
It is full band tournament style. Each band plays a song, of their choice to play. He said it is based on score, but not on total score, since some songs are shorter/longer than others. (I don't know what he means by it, but yea) They will also be judging a bit on style. If you come in with your band, dressed alike and as a band and whatnot, you get extra points. And if you move around on stage and excite the crowd, that results in extra points too. (I hate those formats, but we'll see)
He asks that people be there by 1pm.
The price is $15-$20 per person. Top band wins, all the cash in the pot. So figure 20$ a person, 80$ a band. If 10 bands, top band wins 800$, 200$ a piece. Not bad.
Also, they will have a Guitar Hero 3 tournament, same time, same date, same place. Head-to-head format, best 2 out of 3, finals best of 5. Didn't ask about buy-in and prizes, but I assume it's about the same. Prob top 3 maybe?? IDK.
