I play on hard and i have no previous drumming experience ever, and those really got me too. But just keep playing more songs and eventually you just sorta get it. Its just really strange at first. Just try to relax.
(im stuck on that police song and run t the hills on hard, just to give you an idea of my skill level) |

This was a real problem for me, and still is to a certain extent. Like others say, just relax, I'd mess those parts up just seeing 'em coming and thinking I was going to mess up. I find that very slight motions help me get the bass hits between pad hits. |

One of the biggest things that helps me is to keep the pedal down until you actually play it. When you have a bass/pad/bass or pad/bass/pad progression, lift your foot when you play the pad notes and hit the pedal on the bass notes. So for
R P R
(R = red pad, P = pedal)
lift your foot when you hit R and then pedal and R again.
This really helps on long progressions with alternating pad and pedal. It also makes your foot less tired overall and helps you keep time better. |

All in the head. eventually youll just get em.
This is one of the few times I think im going to go back from hard to medium to 5* stuff to get the basics down and some technique then come back up to hard.
Whereas guitar I just pick expert and go. fail a song, keep trying and eventually Id get it. but drums is a whole new game. |

You could shrink your avatar, that might do it.
In all seriousness, though, just practice what gets to you. And are you talking an even beat, like in "Here it Goes Again" (I think), or a syncopated one, like in Detroit Rock City?
Code: | Here it Goes Again
1 RY
and ----
2 RY
and ----
3 RY
and ----
4 RY
and ---- |
Code: | Detroit Rock City
1 -Y--
e
and
a ----
2 RY
e
and
a R
3 -Y--
e
and
a ----
4 RY
e
and
a R |

The even beat one like "Here it Goes Again" is what gets me.
Which means I'm stuck on hard on that tier because it gets me so badly I fail out and that song, "Wave of Mutilation" and "Celebrity Skin" all have that pattern in them.
I've been practising it in WoM and I can get it 100% at 70% speed and pretty decent at 80% but if I hit 90%/100% it goes all to hell again and I end up hitting the bass waaay to much. _________________

I'm having the same problem on "Dead on Arrival" expert. I keep playing
Code: | 1 R B
and ----
2 RY
and ----
3 R B
and ----
4 RY
and ---- |
or whatever as
Code: | 1 R-B-
and
2 RY--
and
3 R-B-
and
4 RY--
and |
Just keep taking it into practice. I'm doing pretty good (90%+) on 80% speed, but I fall apart on the intro any faster. _________________

I figured this out. I've been winding up my foot on the pad hit and kicking the pedal pretty much as asoon as i hit the pad. been plowin thru hard with this method. |
