As we all know, when you have overdrive, you have certain drum fills to activate overdrive on. How do YOU hit yours? Something new and random each time or something repeating?

Sometimes I use a combination of YB YB YB repeating in a strange tempo, sometimes I do RY R YB Y, and I have a few others that sound cool but I forgot. :P

I try and fill it with beats from Neil Peart if I have time. Specifically, the solos from YYZ.

Typically I just get pissed off at how much lag there is during the fill sections that I end up not doing much.

I never even paid attention..do you get points for what you hit? I always assumed you did, so I just hit as many things as possible, I don't really care what it sounded like.

Nothing fancy. I typically bang the same pads I was already banging or will be banging at a very straight beat. (unless it's a short fill, then I'll do it fast).

Whenever I try and do something cool in my fills, I realized that I always, uniformly break combo. I wait until I'm positive the fill has starts, nail a few random buttons, stop, hit the the green, and continue. Anything else results in major loss of points.

I tend to spam R Y R Y R Y , R B RB RB.
But sometimes when I get upset that I kept magically missing the last G, I just drum roll the Greens because it sounds funny and their clearly louder than anything else.
I had my friends laughing their asses off.

Im trying to figure out a decent pattern for good points on some end wankery.
I usaully have left spam RRR YYY RRR YYY RR and right does BBB GGG BBB GGG BBB with liberal bass till I remember someone lives downstairs.

RB spam I don't like how "random" the fills sound (they don't match the drum tone in the rest of the song), so I try to keep it minimalistic (you don't get points, whether you're Neil Peart or some schmo like me).

I use alot of blue. I don't know why, it seems natural. Depending on the pace of the song, I like to add some fills that fit the rhythm, but sound more natural, as if I was really playing the song. I see some people just go crazy and it doesn't sound very good.

I just continue the beat I was playing before the fill started. Sounds best that way, to me.

I only try to do what sounds good and fits in. Going crazy just messes me up.

Yeah I like to try and do something that fits in with the song. Unless I'm not a big fan of the song, then I have no problem trying to make it sound worse than it already is

I play lefty, and one of my favorites to do is GGBBYYGGGGBBY(end fill with red cymbal hit) all at 16th notes. Otherwise I just play fills from songs I know how to play on real drums.

some of the songs I know well enough and the snare/crash/toms they give you lets me somewhat accurately mimic the real drum fill. On others I just try to make it fit and sound ok.
