run to ?the hills hard

I am having trouble on this song, the riff or whatever forces me not to pedal which makes me fail more and more.

Anyone got any tips on this song

If you haven't taken this into practice, i'd suggest doing so. It loops infinitely and has six timing thresholds so you can keep playing it and bump up from 50% to 100% as you get better. I think drums is going to be a more technically difficult instrument, especially on the harder songs. Good luck, i'm still working slowly through the second tier on hard.

I actually got through it barely. I was really dependent on getting the overdrives and using them when I the fast notes would come up. You just need to make sure you can nail what comes after and between those notes because that is usually where the overdrives are placed.

For me, I would try to get the bass notes in there when I could but the way I would naturally bass for that song was actually the offbeat to those on the actual chart. So for the most part I would try to throw in a bass note here and there but I would mainly focus on the reds and yellows because there are plenty of those.

For the most part I was in the red the majority of the time until after using the overdrives which would give me enough energy to get to the next.

My wrist hurt a bit after that and I called it a day.

Won't Get Fooled Again is a bit easier, though it has alot of stuff in there, it isn't as fast paced and hectic and much more manageable.

I actually got messaged by someone on there for a friend request asking for a drum duel because I was apparently the top of the drum ladder and I look and I am totally shocked-- and it was by quite a lot too. But I'm sure there are better drummers out there I just went through Medium and Hard and I think it combines all your career scores so yeah.

im stuck on this song on hard as well. ive been playing drums for 10 years, and its annoying the shit out of me

yeah, this song is rough. I have absolutely no problems with Won't Get Fooled Again, and I actually find the main riff of RTtH slightly easier on expert. Those frigging gaps in the red mess me up, and the song is tiring as fuck. My arm wants to die after attempting and failing this song.

I might have to just get some energy, and continually not use overdrive so a large part of the song doesn't have to be played (just ignore the fills), but I really don't want to do that. I'd much rather learn the song. Sigh, it will just take tons of practice.

What i did was make sure that you get the entire intro perfectly (obtaining all 3 overdrives), and then i would save until the first fill in the solo, which would usually last until i can keep a steady life meter going.

For the main riff, what i would do is LRL RLR, with LRL on the three red notes, and ignore the bass pedal until i got the hang of it

I finally got this last night! WOOT!
What helped me struggle through

1. Ensure you get at least two of the activations at the start...3 preferrably
2. Save the overdrive as long as you can...this ensures more drum fills to give you a break, and obviously saves you when you really need it.
3. I did not bother with bass drum on the main RRR RRY beat....I only used bass when the green crash cymbal came up...otherwise i ignored it.
4. Focus hard on getting as many over drives as you can through the song.
5. do NOT ignore the bass pedal during the solo when the bass has a constant quarter note beat.

Quite the rush for me when I beat it.

Yeah, this was the last hard song I passed.

I would recommend:
1) Hit all of the red and bass notes
2) Skip the yellow notes if they are throwing you off
3) Save your Overdrive so that you get a break every few seconds

It's all stamina. The rhythm isn't all that hard (even with the bass peddle thrown in) but your arm moving that fast for that long is very tiring. IMHO the bass peddle actually helps you out in this one. It acts as a steady beat throughout nearly the entire song.

The only advice I can offer is to strengthen your wrists to the point where you can play this song through with little discomfort or tiring. But then again, I've been playing for 15 years, so my wrists are at a bit of an advantage to people who have never played before.

Ahh I got to this this morning.
So My record up to run to the hills was only 2 fails.
1 on Dont fear the reaper at the end.
And 1 on next to you, which I dont think counts because I just stared at the intro, failed, and then tried again and did it.

last 2 tiers mostly 4*s ,and 2 5*.
Run to the hills pwned me at the RRR RRY bit.
I just felt like timmy from the lords of the underworld.
hitting notes that werent there anymore, kickin bass for no reason.
Tried again and I comboed the whole intro with ease.
ONE 2 3 4 ONE 2 3 4 ONE 2 3 4 ONE, etc

I think I may actually have to go to practice mode now.

I just spazzed my left h and on the reds, tried to keep the bass going in time and tried to tap the occasional yellow.

then the lil rolling bitt i just spammed left on r, and right did y, b, g.
NOT pretty. but it worked. 78% notes hit..
