|
|
As of the midnight release, all ScoreHero score tracking capabilities are now available for Rock Band 2!
For those who were wondering how shared songs would be handled, we've determined there are several key differences between the original Rock Band and Rock Band 2 game engines making the scores non-comparable and preventing us from combining the ranks. This means: you cannot submit Rock Band scores under Rock Band 2 or vice versa. If you wish to compete in the new ranks, you will need to replay the songs on the new game engine.
Within the Rock Band 2 selections on ScoreHero, below the 84 on-disc songs there are separate tiers for "Rock Band Imported" (55 songs from the original RB disc) and "Downloaded Songs". As usual these songs will not contribute towards Rock Band 2's overall rank, but you may still compete for ranks within each tier if you choose.
I know the list of songs is becoming overwhelmingly large, and very soon I plan to make the song tiers collapsible to help a bit. As a long-term solution, I want to separate the DLC out to separate games (for both RB and RB2) and make the tiers more flexible to allow song groupings by criteria different than difficulty (artist, genre, decade, etc.) with ranks available for each possible grouping.
Those are the plans for the future, but let me know if you find any bugs with score tracking as it is now. Enjoy! _________________

I know I speak for everyone when I say how impressed I am about how fast you got the score tracking up. Within a minute of the release score-tracking was up and running. Thanks for being such a great admin! _________________

Yeah, I was refreshing and 5 seconds after the countdown finished, it was up there
We still can't add scores because of the "Requested song not found" but I'll wait.
Thanks a lot!! |

I'm glad you separated out RB and RB2 scores on the DLC and imported scores. I guess I will be replaying some of those songs! _________________

lol Also you have Colony of Birchman. That was the only thing I noticed other than the Vault Edition gaff.
Can't wait to start uploading scores tomorrow! _________________

Just got back from Walmart with a copy myself.
I fixed the two setlist typos, thanks for pointing those out. Let me know if you find anything else. _________________

There's scoring differences for all instruments? I thought drums were the same, since squeezing was still in. |

I got the game a few days ago, so I'm enjoying my (inevitably short-lived) stay at the top of the list. :P
Good job getting the list up so early! Enjoy the game everybody!
My only concern with this scoring system is that you can't really look up how many stars you achieved on a song after the fact. Quick Play shows your score next to the song but not the stars you got. Once some of the cutoffs are proven, would there be a way to automatically populate the "Stars Earned" field when a score is entered? |

Squeezing hasn't changed, but RB2 allows forced HO/PO's to be charted for guitar/bass that may require strumming in RB. Drum solos exist in RB2 that award extra points not present in RB. And Overdrive continually drains in solo play in RB2 whereas it stops between phrases in RB.
So in short, no instruments are truly compatible. _________________
