|
|
I'm working on a project to share my full band pathing methods with the community, but to start out, I'd like to share my templates, programs and spreadsheets with other people who are actively engaged in full-band pathing.
Requirements:
You must already know the basics of full-band pathing - I need to start with a more advanced group before I really start trying to teach people pathing who have no experience. At a bare minimum, I'd say you should have read raunch's band pathing guide, which is stickied in this forum.
You must have access to Microsoft Excel 2007. I could convert everything to older versions, but frankly, I tend to use the newer features, so it would be a disservice to myself and others who do have up-to-date software.
You must be competitive, a perfectionist, and take scoring big seriously. Otherwise you probably won't enjoy this.
You must be willing to share and collaborate, both techniques/patterns/ideas and actual paths. All take and no give is going to make you annoying.
You must be willing to learn to path my way. I tend to feel like that won't be a problem for most people, since I consider myself to be one of the most successful full-band pathers in the last few months.
Documents will be stored/shared on Office Live. If you're a Microsoft basher, you have to figure out how to not hate Microsoft for long enough to use it.
Non-requirements (nice-to-haves):
You don't have to be participating in an active competitive band, but not having one makes it more difficult to prove that your paths are as good as you think they are.
You don't have to be a programmer, but knowing how to program can definitely be helpful, especially if you're familiar with Java (since my existing tools I've made are written in Java).
To apply:
Sign up at officelive.com for the Office Live Workspace Beta. Then give me the email address associated with the Windows Live ID you signed up with. You can send it to me via PM, XBL message, email or (if you don't care about privacy) in this thread :-) _________________

Well, you were probably expecting me here . Anyways here I am!
I'll go do the Office Live thing now.
Sounds like a lot of fun, especially since the way I'm doing my paths now is sure to fail...

If I had Excel I would sign up for it I wanted to show how I do pathing too. I'll be interested in how this turns out though _________________

What features of Office 2007 are you referring to? I am just curious, because I could get a copy from work and install it...I have played around with 2007 and am familiar with excel, but I'm wondering what you mean there. |

Specifically, I'm a big fan of the new conditional formatting features - way more options and more useful options than before. I probably should use a heatmap in at least a couple places, and don't in favor of a more predictable conditional formatting scheme, but that may change :-) _________________

Oh hai!
I'm pretty sure I qualify, I know the basics. And I'm more than willing to share and learn how to path besides "Look for large numbers and activate OD there, k done" method I use.
So, how exactly do we sign up for this?

Glad you could figure it out, LaserEyess, you've been invited.
Meister: Someone from Drive Shaft should definitely join up, talk to your bandmates :-) _________________

wow. okay, you're probably going to have to explain a little bit about your spreadsheets in the "paths" section. can't figure those out for my life. _________________

Ditto. Kawigi, that is utterly...AMAZING.
Do you want us to put up paths we have already made? I have a few that haven't been tested, and I pathed out some DLC for laughs. But I just do quick and dirty math and draw it up, so I don't have it in spreadsheet. _________________

Added an explanation of what's in the spreadsheets in the paths workspace and gave Highway access (check your email). _________________
