hey... some of the songs on that album might be fun...
ha.
Hm... BYOB might not take as long to five star on x guitar as I thought. I'm getting that GGOGGBGGOGGBGGOGGB part. it's just a matter of timing the strums. Once I can hit that consistently, the five star should come easily.
Life is Beautiful bass is like a cross between Last and Hysteria. Mucho sexxxxxy bass. |

Any ideas what the gold star cutoff is for B.Y.O.B. I want to try and get a GS video of it this evening - it's actually very FCable - the only part I fail to hit with any consistency is the intro - for some inane reason, I also struggle with the three chord shifts in the first chorus, but I'm getting those down too.
I only grabbed the two SoaD songs last night, but both were a blast to play.
I didn't even 5* BYOB on my sightead - missed it by a fraction of an inch |

I'm sure its off topic - but what in the hell are the rules for a stretch of music being deemed a solo? I mean, halfway through Life is Beautiful there is a part that definitely SOUNDS like a solo, yet it isn't. Someone explain this music stuff to me or direct me elsewhere... |

I think the part in Life is Beautiful is very much like the similar parts of Laid to Rest (GH2) and Inside the Fire.
It may be a complex series of hammerons, but the fact that they have a definate repeating pattern makes harmonix chart them as a very hard guitar riff, as opposed to a standalone guitar solo.
the only time I can remember off the top of my head of them charting a repeating riff all by itself as a solo is in Kool Thing.
There are a few songs that seem to have solos, but aren't charted as such...
Beethovens c*** has a part that may be easy, but sounds like a solo... |

Ok I can understand that BUT if we are using the logic of "repeating phrases = no solo" then Here It Goes Again solo shouldn't be a solo at all since it's only 3 repeating chords, right? I'm not sure if there is any hard rule for determining solos vs. riff. Eh, who knows. |

Perhaps there's no solo because the maximum score on guitar was already way higher than the other instruments? Because the whole point of solo bonuses in the first place is to try and make the maximum score on songs as equal as possible. _________________

Aaaarrrrgh! I can't believe I have to wait one more day. It sucks being a PS3 owner in Canada. Every one has YouTube vids up a week+ before I even get a shot at playing the songs. _________________

BYOB killed me on guitar. The other songs weren't that hard, but I really enjoyed SIXX:AM's song and Toxicity. It was definitely a good DLC week. _________________
