I got:
Capital G - because I like it
Last - because it has an awesome Bass chart (I got the 6th FC, too!)
Devour - See Capital G
Also, after easy FCs on both NIN bass parts, Devour was barely 5*. lolwut? _________________

Here are my vocal impressions from last night's stream:
The Shinedown tracks seem to be pretty easy, not much of a challenge for vocals.
The nine inch nails tracks are full of talkies, a couple of which are pretty sensitive. There was only one phrase on capitol G that I have not hit yet, but it seems to be a timing issue rather than broken (see Hand that Feeds for reference). The singing parts for Trent are always very strange since he doesn't have a sustained pitch and tends to go all over the place. The very first phrase on burn is a perfect example of what you would expect for Trent. And yes the scream in Burn is a talky which is pretty easy to fill (got it filled about halfway through the phrase). _________________

Singles suck, I'm glad Harmonix avoids them. |

NIN pack is great, fun to play on pretty much everything
Devour is just bland, so much fun playing constant chords of talentless
but however the other song isnt to bad, but still they could have picked someone better _________________

a tip for playing Burn on expert guitar...
the random series of awkward hopo's with the random chord in the middle? STRUM IT ALL. (well, you can hopo the last two notes). I could not combo that section, then I realized maybe it's like that main riff in Say It Ain't So, which is made much easier for me by ignoring the hopos. And it worked. once I started strumming all of it, I combo'd it every time. It actually made the song fun. |

I love nails, but I'm not loving this pack... on drums, it's a stamina fest, and just sort of repetitive...

A Shinedown DLC release correlating to the release of their new album, huh? What a coincidence. Weezer, Motley Crue, Avenged Sevenfold all had DLC around their album release....shit, even The Who are on a "reunion tour". Granted, I like most of the DLC but I almost don't buy it out of spite. I feel like they are trying to be salespeople instead of offering DLC that is actually plain old good music for music's sake.
The good news? The Jonas Brothers and Hawthorne Heights have albums coming out in August (kicks self in nuts) |

Pretty much this.
Although rush and RHCP was a cool pack.
Nope, not this pack. Thumbs down. But hey, the last few have all been thumbs up, so I'm cool. _________________

I don't think releasing A7X tracks in june from an album that was released in october (iirc) really counts as "releasing tracks to correspond with an album debut" |

Burn and Last are classics for any long-time NIN fan. The new freeloading young NIN fans wouldn't understand the significance of those two songs ever making it into a rhythm game (much less the BEST rhythm game). Hell, Burn wasn't even released on a proper NIN album but remains a fan favorite at concerts. Capital-G I could take or leave - There was better off of Year Zero to pull from.
I'll admit, solo play on Burn for Expert Guitar looks uneventful at best. Buy a mic stand, voxtar that bitch - if you can 5* just about any song in the game you should be moving on to multiple instruments anyway. Nobody is impressed with great single scores anymore - voxtar is where it is at IMO when you reach a consistent high level of play on a single. Anything less and your not challenging yourself anymore - your simply going through the paces.
I can't give an opinion on the Shinedown tracks, I haven't played them. I like my ears too much. |
