|
|
The Thread for the Drums Weekly Rivalry Competition, similar to the Leagues on SH. Since the new season won't start for a while, I figured I'd make this since I have sooo much time. Here are the rules:
Quote: | The objective: I will put out 3 songs every week (once I get enough people), and the objective is to get as high of a score on Expert Drums as you can on those songs. Only Expert scores will be accepted. Before the end of that week, PM me your top scores and I will show them on this post at the end of the week, when the entries have all been sent in. This way, you won't know what the other contestants' scores are, just like the SH Leagues.
The songs: 2 songs will be chosen at random, pulled out of a hat (literally). The other will be decided by me. I will not be in this competition myself, so people won't call me a cheater, picking songs that I'm good at.
The competition will last for 4 weeks, with a playoff week, week 5, which will narrow down the contestants to 3, and they will have one final song.
The competition will be based on a new points scale, since there are 6 players in this competition. There are seperate points for each song, like this:
5 points awarded to 1st Place
4 points awarded to 2nd Place
3 points awarded to 3rd Place
2 points awarded to 4th Place
1 point awarded to 5th Place
0 points awarded to 6th Place
This means 45 points will be given out each week (15 points available x 3 songs per week). The most one person could earn is 15 points in one week.

I'm in. And since we all know activations and what not are clearly different for PS2/Wii* and PS3/360, then it should work like this: If a PS2/Wii* player is paired against said PS3/360 player, if both players get optimal for that system they should be tied, however, if PS2/Wii* player gets FC+optimal and PS3/360 player gets no FC+no optimal but higher score, PS2/Wii* player should win, considering we all know the differences.
* - I'm not sure if Wii is the same as PS2's, chart and activation wise, but I just put Wii with PS2 since I figure it probably is. _________________

Ok, you're in
umm, yes I agree that there needs to be some kind of way to figure it out. What I'll do is base it on ratio, so say (completely made up numbers) PS3 person gets 300,000 points on a song, and PS2 person gets 320,000 points on the same song, I look at the optimal score (or at least the best score on that song on the leaderboards). If the optimal score on PS3 is 310,000, but the optimal score on PS2 is 350,000, then the PS3 person wins, because 30:31 is a higher ratio than 32:35.
Does that seem fair? _________________

I'm sorry to hear that. However, spots are going fast and there's usually a few drum tourneys going on, so look around oncce you get your pads.

Technically, no, because PS3/360 scores are higher than PS2/Wii scores with optimal. PS2 scores are usually generally 1-3k lower scores. _________________

Ahh, you're right, that wouldn't work.
I think once the scores come in, I'll determine a way to compare the two consoles' scores.
If anyone has any ideas, let me know. _________________

Just figure the 1% difference or whatever of the scores, and do it that way. Actually, I don't really know what I'm saying here, but I'm sure someone will be able to help. _________________
