| this is a dumb question, but are the number of stars you get in a song based on your score or percentage? |

definately score.
On a side note, one of the new things this game brings that I absolutely love and wish was in the GH series is how it shows you exactly your star rating through the song..so you know exactly how close you are to 4 start-5 star etc...

It can also be frustrating and distracting when you see that you are so close to a five-star and its the end of the song. |
