Wouldnt it be:
d+2d+3d+4(31-3)d+(24*125)?

Either that or you are just looking for 31d+(24*125)

Because you either take into account multipliers, or you dont take them into account at all....

Unless Im missing something? If I am, please feel free to enlighten me

You're right. It was my oversight. I'm immediately fixing it now. Thanks.

What does the (24*125) mean? I understand there are 24 percussion hits, but how do you get 125, and where does that factor in the bonus for Awesome, when you hit them all. Doesn't it give you 25 or 50 per hit, then a bonus afterwards for perfect. I guess this also applies to the guitar solos, and their bonus afterwards. I'm still unclear on how they each work. Enlighten me please. Thanks.

If you hit every percussion section FC'd, you get (number of notes X 100). Add that to (number of notes X 25), and you get (number of notes X 125).

Thanks for clearing that up, is that similar for the guitar solos also, or are you not familiar?

I do believe it's the same, but you shouldn't quote me on that.

What on earth is the optimal path for this one? It looks like Virtuoso uses 2-2-3 with some delayed activations on the Lonely At The Top youtube video, but that path only got me enough points for 18th. Anyone wanna share?

The paths I use for It's Lonely at the Top are not necessarily optimal for solo play.

Unfortunately, I've held the top score for this song for over a month, and I've only started keeping track of paths I use recently, so I have no idea what path I used back then.

Kinda baffled that nobody's beaten me since then, too. o.O

Don't worry, if I figure out the path again, I'll post it here.

I figured as much. I also thought there was a chance that you used your optimal path out of habit.

Anyway, thanks to you and everyone else who posts paths. They really help those of us who are good at playing but haven't the faintest idea how to start figuring out how to maximize scores.

I just got this first place path under an hour ago:

4/ Before "The bottle is ready to blow"
2/ Before the second "Say it ain't so" in the second chorus
3/ After the percussion section

Enjoy!

Well, it depends.

Normally, a missed phrase will lose you a little over 6,000. That's however much you were short on the missed phrase + the 3,000 you lose for only 1xing that phrase + the 2,000 you lose for only 2xing the next phrase + the 1,000 you lose for only 3xing the last phrase.

However, if that phrase was an OD phrase, or it caused you to have less than 4x during all phrases in an OD activation, then it could potentially be much more.

That said, most songs don't require 100% to get gold stars. On this song, for example, the lowest gold star score is around 148,000, and comes from a 99% run.
