yeah. just find something to rub it on. the first one is pretty easy, but the 2nd and 3rd are a little more sensitive. I found rubbing on my couch worked most of the time, on my pants worked most of the time, my shirt maybe about 60/40, on the battery pack of my controller worked some of the time, but it seemed really touchy. maybe I was rubbing at the wrong angle.

After I made this video, I started working on my next trick: Sabotage FC using nothing but two plastic shopping bags. So far I've got the first verse almost down to a science.

also, I agree. I think the "talky" parts would have been a lot less frustrating if they were just regular pitch notes. I'd much rather try to figure out what pitch to hit then what I have to rub my mic on that makes the software think I'm saying "Ow!". :P

Karaoke Revolution just has blank note tubes, meaning you can speak them and it won't affect your score. Maybe they should've stuck with that. =P It's already bad enough that the guitar has to play turntable scratches and samples for Sabotage. Many people I've talked to agree that the song shouldn't even be in the game, especially if three out of four instruments aren't having the best of it.

Rubbing it on my jeans didn't work so well for me.

I nabbed the "premium" mic yesterday to see if it'd register talky parts better, but if it does, it's in a 'barely' sort of way.

Upholstery was the answer for it on this tune.

What are you talking about? Bass and drums are awesome for Sabotage.

I managed to rub out (can we please call the technique this name?) the first and third, which was good enough for gold stars. I got the second one once, but then missed the third. After GS, I didn't much care.

This technique works for, I'm sure we've all realized by now, many other talky parts in the game, including most of Sabotage and "You'd better get out of the way" in 29 Fingers. I could not get it to work in Detroit Rock City or I'm So Sick.

I'm gonna try it in Blood Doll next.

I tried it last night in Blood Doll. It does not work AT ALL. Just stick to a loud whisper.

rub out

YES. You win, sir.

I don't think the rubbing will work for many other parts. I think basically every talky bit in this game is looking for something different. certain sounds just happen to be really close to what it's looking for. Most of sabotage is pretty insensitive. Someone pointed out in some other thread somewhere that you can turn the sensitivity up and wave the mic around in the air, and it'll still give you some "strong" and "awesome"'s

I'm going to continue trying crazy shit, I'll keep posting here with what I find. I'm going to start timmy on monday. ;)

It works on "Whoa Yeah" in TKAR. Which is a blessing.

No for Blood Doll, YES for Ballroom Blitz (enough for GS FINALLY).

Yes for the first talky part and about 50% of the end of Hand That Feeds.

I STILL cannot get this to work for the second talky part in WYWY. I've tried fast, I've tried slow, I've tried playing with the sensitivity, nothing. Is this one done a little differently?

on WYWY, i couldnt get the pants thing to work, so i took a brown paper grocery bag in my left hand, mic in right.

at the talky parts i crammed the mic into the side of the bag and made a motion like i was squeezing a lemon, twisting the mic into the bag.

FC'd it on the first try doing this.
