Does anyone know if you are allowed to create a character on the wii version?

I picked up the PS2 version yesterday and it's pretty good. There's a world tour mode and it's more than just a list of songs. There's challenges, quickplay and so forth. The drum trainer is in there along with freestyle mode. No character creation, but that's to be expected.

This is all great and makes me happy, but there is one very, very stupid omission on the part of the developers.

They did not fix practice mode. Seriously.

hehehehe glad I made the switch to 360

However I do still have my PS2 so once I get some spare cash (like that will happen, DLC) I will have to pick up a copy of this for my annual GH night at my school (for band). At least Harmonix did SOMETHING (added WT THANK GOD)

In case anyone is wondering, the practice mode on the Wii is epic win. EPIC win. AFAIK, it's got everything those 360/PS3 people get. Poor PS2 people though.

Also, this game kicks the shit out of GHWT. The graphics look bearable, and the drummer looks like he's actually playing the song! Nobody's online yet, so I can't tell if it's laggy or not. Anyone wanna hit me up with their friend code? Please? I'm lonely ;_;

What about the included guitar? Is is the Stratocaster, or is it better?

So what exactly does the PS2 version have? Any shortcomings in comparison to the 360 version? Any outstanding bugs?

This topic is about the Wii and PS2 versions of Rock Band 2. This isn't, "Convince us to buy a 360 or PS3".

The Wii version did everything right, though. All it's missing is the band logo/tattoo maker from what I've heard. It's even got full band online, unlike GH:WT.

No online features, which is to be expected.
No character creator.
Practice mode (as far as I have heard, I didn't check it out) is not fixed, but pretty much anything you want to practice is in drum/fill trainer.
Only bug I have found (and it is very minor) is in fill trainer. If you hit the first note at the beginning of it's timing window, before the fill section gets to you, it doesn't count towards your percent. But that is just minor. It could just be like (front-end?) sqeezing.

I don't think anything else is different.

The Wii version doesn't have a redemption code on the manual. I figure this is because RB1 on the Wii can't download songs. So you'd have to actually have Rock Band 2 to download the songs.
