No, you cannot use the regular charts because the charts differ between regular and pro. And I believe you must take into account the no whammy in pro mode. I personally have never pursued pathing pro charts because I don't own any of the pro guitar instruments.
The good news is that because you don't have to take the whammy into account, it is much easier to path. I tried helping a bit here - http://rockband.scorehero.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=33711&start=0
Good thread to look at. I have no idea where to get the pro charts for pro guitar/bass, though. |

If there were charts available I would path as I pathed Pro Keys but unfortunately DarylZero do not have the time or motivation to provide pro guitar/bass charts.
Maybe you could PM him about it, or somebody else tries to figure out a way to get charts. _________________

I was thinking of using Guitar Pro 5 to path them (it wouldn't be as fancy as charts but oh well). It would be easy as pie to translate the charts (just look at a video, or use your game for the tabs and OD) but I don't know if everyone is familiar with this program, as it is a music learning/creation program. |

This can easily be done. I think just going through parctice mode part by part just to get tabs won't take long to transcribe that to a GP5 file, especially for someone who is used to the program, We'd just need to figure out a way to identify OD and activations. I was thinking of using Text for activation and the ''let ring'' direction for phrases. |

Oh okay you wanted to that manually?
You know that with Guitar Pro you can open the midi files from Rock band 3?
All you need to do then is correct the number of notes and show where the OD is. _________________

The notes for the pro guitar/bass will be accurate? I thought that the notes wasn't really notes but a variation, or something that you can change in a note in a MIDI software and the 6 strings were the notes? If this is the case it would be probably better to start from scratch, and possibly faster. If the notes are accurate, it's another story. |

Well when I open a song without pro guitar/bass (I only had that on my PC) it doesn't show up the correct amount of notes by chords but the rythm part is good. I'll try with a pro guitar/bass midi files tomorrow, but I don't have any except the ones from RB3 so try it yourself if you know how to get midis from Rock Band songs. _________________

Yeah I was hoping to not do that, and do something way more simple, I don't really care about how it looks, but I care about the simplicity though. We could always use GP5 and export the file in JPG
EDIT: I'll make one later tonight and see the result with GP5. |

All right, not sure about the path, but I just did Foolin', took me about 30-45mins to tab it, and not long to figure out a path, but I'm still not sure it's the best path.

Let Ring notations indicates OD phrases, Unisons are specified. ON means activates, OFF means Activation wears off.
Edit: I Went ahead and tabbed a couple of the warmup tier. Didn't made any other path though, I really just tabbed them for now. Just Like Heaven is the easiest song to tab ever, make 3 section, copy paste forever, this song was faster to tab than Imagine lol |

That's cool but it really makes it hard for pathing, can't you see find a way to do it like Basilobbes did?

I don't know what program he used but it turns out pretty good.
If you take care of the charts I can make paths for them.
Also I don't know where I can get Rock Band 3 midi files, I know all the DLC are on my harddrive but rock band 3 songs arent. _________________

Actually not really, Pro bass and guitar don't use whammy, so 1 phrase is exactly 2 or 4 measures, as long as you can read music, pathing isn't that hard using that format, anyways for me...
As for the other format, I think the guy must've used photoshop, or a prog of the kind, its way too much work. |

What makes it hard is that I haven't got how many points you got under each measure, so I can't calculate anything. I don't know how much a sustain note gives for example. _________________
