This is what I've been up to the past couple of years. About a year or 2 of base training and 6 months of Ironman specific training has lead up to this moment. For those of you who don't know an Ironman triathlon consists of a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride, and 26.2 mile marathon run all in the same day with no breaks. Completing this race has been more of an accomplishment than everything I've ever done in Rock Band combined. I still play on occasion though.

Here is a link to my workout page:

I did all of these back in March/April. Haven't had much time to play since then with all of the Ironman training.

I thought you quit because you reached 10,000 standard FCs. Guess I was wrong haha. Good to see you back man, and congrats on the triathlon! I speed skate and the most I've ever done was a 52 mile double marathon, but that's not even half of the bike ride lol. I bet you're in really good shape, and I might actually take a look at your workout page because I really need to get my core and upper body in shape.

This has been my biggest accomplishment in the past year. I finished the Pikes Peak Marathon in Colorado which is the 2nd toughest marathon in the world. I only started playing Rock Band a little bit when I was tapering for the race and bored out of my mind. I'm debating whether I should get Rock Band 4 or not since I would have to buy a next gen system specifically for that one game. I also noticed it's been exactly one year since I last updated this thread. Maybe I'll see you guys next year?

Blitz Gold Update:

Fake It
Pac-Man Fever
Brains Out
Fur Elise (Beethoven)
Gemini
A Grim Struggle
Protoman
Until I Feel Nothing
Simple Man
Frostbite Cavern
Deception Concealing Fate Part Two
Inno A Satana (Live)
You Only Live Once (2X Bass Pedal)
Sham Piety
Magnolia
Desecration Day
Internal Cannon
Shallow Waters
Sunrise
Sampo
River of Tuoni
Ride the Stache
Our Finest Hour

Oooh a Tim update. Nice job as always with the gold stars and absolutely awesome work on Pikes Peak. I see your marathon and hiking posts on Facebook and it blows me away, crazy impressive stuff there.

As for something I know more about - Rock Band 4 is looking good if you ask me, but if you don't already see yourself playing Xbox One or Playstation 4 without it in the future... Wait and see how the community reacts. For me personally, the weeks leading up to release and the first couple of weeks following a major release are some of the most fun times I have had with games, so I can't imagine missing out on that. Take a look at your finances and see if you want to swing it. If not, you're obviously doing fantastic without grinding FC's all the time

That beard is fucking glorious

Nice job with the marathoning and last years Iron Man. Extremely impressive, takes tons of training and dedication. My dad did marathons and one ultra marathon back in the day so I kinda know what it takes for running 26.2 miles, but I can't imagine the effort needed to go through with the Iron Man.

As for getting a One or ps4, you would definitely want it to do something more than just playing rock band. Honestly there's all kinds of really good stuff out to play, and this holiday season is absolutely loaded. And I wouldn't be surprised to see one or both get price cuts for the holidays. But unless you see yourself going back to the FC grind (and I daresay we'd all like to see you hit 15k FCs lol) and finding some games to really get use out of your system, I wouldn't get one just to play RB occasionally. Especially since you appear to have much more challenging and rewarding ways you want to spend your time.

Just my 2 cents

I'm not sure whether I could survive a marathon run. You're awesome, Tim!

Well, as for RB4; I'd maybe hold off until you actually get an Xbone/PS4.

Nice job Tim!

As a marathoner, I could only imagine the time it took to prepare for an ironman run. I don't think people realize all the training required just to attempt one of these things. I did some research, and it pretty much took the time of a second job to train for an ironman.

Very impressive and keep it up!

Been up to a lot the past few years. As you can see I've long traded my Rock Band addiction with an endurance addiction. Been going hard with it ever since the Rock Band community died in 2012 and they stopped coming out with weekly DLC. My biggest achievments in running the past few years is a 158 mile run at a 72 hour race last summer, another Ironman after that, my second 100 miler last month, and just did the St. Louis Marathon this past weekend. Running stats thus far:

38 marathons, 2 Ironmans, 15 Ultras, Longest run 158 miles - 20/50 States and 2/7 Continents

I'm updating the thread again because I stayed with my friend Crystal I met through Rock Band for the St. Louis Marathon this past weekend. First time meeting each other in person. I ended up playing Rock Band 4 for the first time at her house and quickly picked up a new FC several golds and a crimson star. I've also gotten a lot of blitz golds over the years since the last update.

I quite literally could never fathom trying to run a marathon; hell, the best I did in school was about a 10-minute mile. Insane dedication, man.

(Cool to see the RB love doesn't die hard, either! Just keep blitz in your back pocket for some casual time, yknow?)
