He's fine, just busy. I know he's been doing some work related to the site lately. _________________

Well I FINALLY got around to doing the bass DLC, lol, and here are the paths I came up with:
Oh! Darling:

Her Majesty:

Maxwell's Silver Hammer:

Sun King/Mean Mr. Mustard:

Polythene Pam/She Came in Through the Bathroom Window:

And to reiterate, here are the paths I posted earlier, for guitar:
Oh! Darling:

Hey Majesty:

Maxwell's Silver Hammer:

These'll hopefully tide you over until we get an update. I'm hoping for one sooner rather than later, because I wanna know if I got the paths right, lol. I also hope he'll fix the tables soon too, 'cause I got like fifty firsts and two optimals since the last time they updated, and I'd like to see it in the stats. >_> |

Tables should be fixed now (in any case your name is now plastered all over them :P ).
Yeah, I've been terrible about updating. Probably don't hold your breath at this point. If I do an update it will probably be up to the DLC prior to Rock Band 3.
I hear that Rock Band 3 scoring is different and I doubt that I'll be updating the optimizer for its idiosyncrasies.
If anyone really wants to see this continue and has the desire and ability to take over from me, I'd be happy to discuss it. _________________

It's not a huge difference actually; Unison bonuses show up in solo play now, so there's just some OD phrases that are worth 1/2 bar instead of 1/4.
I think all the other mechanics of guitar/bass scoring are exactly the same for previous songs; strumming is easier to hit but the scoring is identical. The big change in new songs is the addition of the trills mechanic, and we don't really know how that works yet in terms of scoring, OD, if you can squeeze there, etc. _________________

Yeah they've been fixed for quite a while, but thanks for double-checking. I hope you eventually finish out the TBRBDLC/RB2DLC/GDRB, to, IDK, "collect the whole set", lol. Thanks for all the paths, btw.
IDK what all is different about RB3, but I'd wager it's not much more than unison bonuses in solo play. Of course, you'd have to redo all the DLC again for RB3, which'd likely be a huge pain. I hope somebody picks up the torch here, 'cause I'd hate to follow some path perfectly, and then find out I'm 1k back of the leaders, and I can't fathom having to path all the songs by myself. Just those 5 TBRBDLC took me hours a pop. |

I know it's been ages since this project has been on its feet, but what type of hardware would be necessary to get this back up and running? _________________

Hi all. I haven't thought about this site for quite a while! I actually didn't realize people still used it.
That said, it looks like my host has disappeared and unfortunately I can't find the path data (I can't believe I didn't back up the data somewhere else back in 2010, but... it looks like I didn't).
I'm going to try to contact the host to see if I can get the data back and then re-host it somewhere else (at the very least, provide a download of all the path images for you), but I'm not super hopeful.
If someone can obtain the midis from the game (I don't have a backup of those either...), then in theory the code here could be used to run the optimizer again: https://github.com/jasharpe/apathtoofar/tree/master/optimizer _________________
