I want to be able to use my kick pedal for drums, but buying a whole new kick pedal seems too expensive. So, I want to try and go DIY-style on my kick pedal. I've been using duct tape and glue to fixing it, but it does not seem to be working.

I vaguely remember seeing a video where someone put 2 knives taped to the bottom of the pedal (the part you hit with your foot, not the whole thing obviously) and then taping it up. It sounds like it would work... I dunno though, I'd say it's worth a shot.

Well, I made that post about nine years ago now. For what it's worth, I definitely ended up using that method to fix a pedal with great success. It's a pretty good solution if you're stuck using a stock kit.
