NOTE: This idea is from SpoonMan. All credits for the poll style/idea goes to him.

For anyone wondering whether this is considered a "poll thread" and thus against the rules: The mods have discussed it and ruled that as long as there is discussion of why a song is chosen as harder/easier, then there is no problem. I would ask all of you to try to add some reasoning to all of your votes going forward if possible.

This is a project that will ultimately create a complete Expert Master FC Breakdown for every game in the RB series combined. There are more than 350 songs, and making a single huge list from scratch that anyone can agree on would simply be impossible. This way it is broken down into smaller sections and can be the most "accurate" possible. It's completely based on the opinion of participants of this thread. I did not make any of the rankings based solely on personal opinion.

Final List:

1.) Song 2
2.) We Will Rock You
3.) Thunder
4.) Swing, Swing
5.) Real Wild Child
6.) Free Fallin'
7.) Check Yes Juliet
8.) Summer of '69
9.) Dreaming of You
10.) Ruby
11.) Valerie
12.) Girls and Boys
13.) We Are the Champions
14.) Rooftops (A Liberation Broadcast)
15.) Accidentally in Love
16.) Aliens Exist
17.) Crash
18.) Breakout
19.) A-Punk
20.) The Passenger
21.) Every Little Thing She Does is Magic
22.) Dig
23.) Crocodile Rock
24.) Suddenly I See
25.) Word Up!
26.) Let's Dance
27.) Ghostbusters
28.) Ride A White Swan
29.) Grace
30.) Walking on Sunshine
31.) I Want You Back
32.) Stumble and Fall
33.) You Give Love a Bad Name
34.) Two Princes
35.) Tick Tick Boom
36.) Kung Fu Fighting
37.) Fire
38.) Life is a Highway
39.) So What
40.) In Too Deep
41.) Naive
42.) Make Me Smile (Come Up And See Me)
43.) The Final Countdown
44.) Monster
45.) Short and Sweet

Not really too sure about the groupings atm, but I believe by "Nae" you mean Naive.

That probably happened when I was putting everything together, I'm surprised I didn't make more dumb mistakes.

I'm actively working on these, as a placeholder I copied from above.

Group A:
Check Yes Juliet
Accidentally in Love
Breakout
A-Punk
Aliens Exist
Crash
Crocodile Rock

A lot of this group is "this song is the same thing but faster." I always found Aliens Exist's bridge (dark and scary, ordinary yadda yadda yadda) was really awkward and offbeat. Crash and Crocodile Rock both have actual hardish bits and more movement than the 3 songs above them.

Group B:
Free Fallin'
Dreaming of You
Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic
Ghostbusters
Dig
Fire
The Final Countdown

I FCed Fire on accident. I got an FC of TFC's solo in about 8 hours of grinding. Fire is way easier. Ghostbusters and Dig are close, it's pretty much the eternal "are chords or easy hammer-ons harder?" question.

Group C:
Girls & Boys
Let's Dance
Kung Fu Fighting
Grace
I Want You Back
Life Is a Highway
In Too Deep

This KFF is way easier than the BH KFF. IWYB is really not bad compared to the triplets in the solo of Life is a Highway (and the general trickiness). ITD's solo is really hard.

Group D:
Ride a White Swan
Real Wild Child
The Passenger
Naive
Make Me Smile (Come Up and See Me)
Monster

Monster's stupid strumming is significant'y harder than Make Me Smile's stupid strumming. Naive is stupid Antibodies style (of course a lot easier though).

Group E:
Song 2
Ruby
Rooftops (A Liberation Broadcast)
Stumble and Fall
So What
Short and Sweet

I disagree that So What and Short and Sweet are interchangable, but that's mostly a tribute to how hard I think S&S's solos are. So What is annoying but doable (much like I think about Foolin' and Here I Go Again on RB3).

Group F:
Thunder
Swing, Swing
Summer of '69
Suddenly I See
Two Princes
Tick Tick Boom

The stupid things in verse 2 of Tick Tick Boom are really hard. I swear. I'm not just crazy, please tell me I'm not just crazy.

Group G:
We Will Rock You
Valerie
We Are the Champions
Word Up!
Walking on Sunshine
You Give Love a Bad Name

Tough group to order, but I think you hit it spot on.

Some people would argue that Monster's weird, inconsistent strumming section would make it harder. That's really the only other song that would have a chance of being voted harder.

I meant that mainly on LRB, Chris. I still think it's one of the top 2 in that group regardless of the engine, but on RB3 it's not interchangeable with S&S.

EDIT: Edited groups B and F. I forgot about those grace notes in TTB, as I only recalled the strumming (which is WAAAAYYY easier here than on WoR).

I just got done playing through all the Green Day songs, and now I'm going to start on this. So if we could keep phase 1 open for at least a couple more days (which I think is the plan already), that'd be great.

(I admittedly am not as knowledgeable about this group as I am the others. The only ones I'm sure of are Ride a White Swan, Monster, and Make me Smile.)

Also, while I don't generally like to comment on other peoples' choices during this phase, if you're not knowledgeable about this group, I would seriously recommend going back and replaying them. Especially Naive, Real Wild Child, and the Passenger.

Alright, I actually managed to play through it all today, surprisingly (I really had nothing better to do, did I? Oh god what is my life...)

Group A:
Check Yes Juliet
Accidentally in Love
Aliens Exist
Crash
Breakout
A-Punk
Crocodile Rock

(A-Punk is finger twisty, but its short and there are far fewer different techniques you need to be skilled in relative to the crazy-chokeable Crocodile Rock)

Group B:
Free Fallin'
Dreaming of You
Dig
Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic
Ghostbusters
Fire
The Final Countdown

(Ghostbusters is easily the hardest song other than Final Countdown and Fire. Fire is weird, but Final Countdowns solo is harder than anything else in this group by far. Also if you ignore hopos, Dig is a completely immemorably easy chart. ELTSDIM is much weirder and, imo, harder)

Group C:
Girls & Boys
Grace
I Want You Back
Let's Dance
In Too Deep
Kung Fu Fighting
Life Is a Highway

(The faster parts of Lets Dances solo are harder than anything else here until you get to In Too Deeps solo triplets. Kung Fu Fighting is so relentless that it gets bumped up past In Too Deeps one tricky-but-short solo. Life Is a Highway combines the techniques needed in all three of those songs)

Group D:
Real Wild Child
The Passenger
Ride a White Swan
Naive
Make Me Smile (Come Up and See Me)
Monster

(Ride a White Swan is kind of random and odd all the way through, with a few tricky soloing bits, so I strongly disagree with placing it easiest in this group. Make Me Smile requires a little skill and a little luck, but Monster requires quite a bit of both.)

Group E:
Song 2
Rooftops (A Liberation Broadcast)
Ruby
Stumble and Fall
So What
Short and Sweet

(So Whats strumming has nothing on Short and Sweets general difficulty. Everything else in this group is significantly easier, but still not too hard to place)

Group F:
Thunder
Swing, Swing
Summer of '69
Suddenly I See
Tick Tick Boom
Two Princes

(Tick Tick Booms strumming is just 16th notes, so not hard. But that combined with the weird blue-orange hopo thing make it harder than Suddenly I See. Two Princes still tops this group easily)

Group G:
We Will Rock You
Valerie
We Are the Champions
Word Up!
Walking on Sunshine
You Give Love a Bad Name

(You Give Loves solo and outro make it tops here. A lot of this group is disputable though)

Check Yes Juliet
Accidentally in Love
Crash
Aliens Exist
Breakout
A-Punk
Crocodile Rock

No surprises here.

Free Fallin'
Dreaming of You
Dig
Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic
Ghostbusters
The Final Countdown
Fire

Fuck Fire.

Girls and Boys
Grace
Let's Dance
Life Is A Highway
In Too Deep
Kung Fu Fighting
I Want You Back

In Too Deep really isn't that bad.

Real Wild Child
The Passenger
Naive
Ride a While Swan
Monster
Make Me Smile

Probably going to get a ton of shit for this one.

Song 2
Rooftops (A Liberation Broadcast)
Ruby
So What
Stumble and Fall
Short and Sweet

I don't get the hype for the So What strumming, and calling it interchangeable with Short and Sweet, by far the hardest song in the game, is just crazy.

Thunder
Swing, Swing
Summer of '69
Suddenly I See
Tick Tick Boom
Two Princes

Agree with Machete.

We Will Rock You
Valerie
We Are the Champions
Word Up!
Walking on Sunshine
You Give Love a Bad Name

Ditto.

I shouldn't have to quit out here.

Group A:
Check Yes Juliet
Accidentally in Love
Aliens Exist
Crash
Breakout
Crocodile Rock
A-Punk

Group B:
Free Fallin'
Dreaming of You
Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic
Dig
Ghostbusters
Fire
The Final Countdown

The solo in TFC really is that hard, probably 2nd after the notorious not so-Short and Sweet. I do understand that Fire is reasonably tricky.

Group C:
Girls & Boys
Let's Dance
Grace
Life Is a Highway
I Want You Back
Kung Fu fighting
In Too Deep

Group D:
Ride a White Swan
Real Wild Child
The Passenger
Naive
Make Me Smile (Come Up and See Me)
Monster

Group E:
Song 2
Ruby
Rooftops (A Liberation Broadcast)
Stumble and Fall
So What
Short and Sweet

Group F:
Thunder
Swing, Swing
Summer of '69
Suddenly I See
Two Princes
Tick Tick Boom

I understand what machete said about the TTB strumming. It's still harder than anything in Princes.

Group G:
We Will Rock You
Valerie
We Are the Champions
Word Up!
Walking on Sunshine
You Give Love a Bad Name

Those off-tempo trills in WU are tricky, but I realized after posting how much trouble Sunshine gave me on the Bass FGFC and I can't imagine guitar is any easier. I still imagine the solo in You Give... pushes it to the top of the group.
