The double hits in the verses I sware to god are broken. I've missed every single one that I tried to hit when I was going for the gold star of this song.

Is this just me, or has anyone else had this? :/

I've never had that issue. I'll play it again sometime and see what's up, but I don't think anything's wrong.

I knew there was something wrong with that drum chart. Is there any way to hit the broken notes without losing combo, or are they just completely impossible?

As far as I've tried, no. Those left hits will always be impossible to hit.

Now I have to wonder if any other charts are broken in that way.

1901 by Phoenix is, as I just found out today. The "chords" in the chorus on drums randomly break your combo.
