Make it start much slower, leading into less pinballs throughout the song
Reducing the point value would make it useless to pretty much everyone but KetchupYoshi and a few other pinball gods _________________

Just read about this. I'm not playing Blitz any more so I've no skin in the game, but even a blind man could see that Jackpot + Flame Notes was horrendously overpowered on a very large number of songs.
Nerfing Flame Notes by half wasn't such a good idea, as I'm sure some songs are probably improbably difficult to gold star now without Pinball (Child in Time, maybe?).
The problem wasn't so much the flame notes, it was that Jackpot affected the value of the flame notes. By itself without Jackpot, Flame Notes are just as ho-hum as most of the other powerups.
In fact, you might even argue that Jackpot is actually the game-breaking powerup, more so than Flame Notes. It's just plain better than Point Doubler for anyone good enough to land the combo. _________________

Child in Time can be golded with Jack/Blast (which is extremely hard), or pinball/jackpot (which is even harder).
Jackpot is the primary problem, but that's the thing with powerups; there's always going to be something overpowered, no matter how well you take everything else into account. It's like fighting games. _________________

IIRC it was even more than half; I think they went from 1500 points to 350 points. _________________
