Pain is the song that got the upgrade.

Pain is probably the most boring out of all. And yet it gets the upgrade.
Isn't that (almost) always the case?

Might have interesting arpeggios.

Either way, HMX does always choose the wrong song for pro. Worst case would be, out of all of Nothing's Shocking to choose from, they pick Jane Says. Great song, but still...

Sometime's it's a sales thing (Jane Says is probably a good example of when that happens), sometimes it's how the stems are (they want cleaner stems for pro), sometimes it's also the bass chart (likely why Landslide doesn't have a pro upgrade), and sometimes it's a licensing thing (I'm guessing).

Beyond that, HMX is run by humans, and they have different opinions.

Besides, it's not always the worst. "I Want A New Drug" was the pro upgrade for Huey.

I'm guessing it's also a factor of time and the man-hours it takes to create each chart. They can only spend so long on pro guitar charts, so sometimes they'll pick the simplest one so that it can be charted quickly and they can spend more time doing the more complex charts. Just think how long 2112 must have taken to chart - I'm guessing that's why songs like Have You Ever Seen The Rain and How You Remind Me were chosen over the more 'interesting' charts being done at that time. Same reason we got We Belong/In The End at the same time TTFAF was being charted.

As for 3 Days Grace, never heard of them, thought Hate Everything About You was the Ugly Kid Joe version, so nothing for me this week.

I get to be the minority in this discussion in saying that I absolute love Three Days Grace. I've been listening to them for a long time now... This pack is an insta-buy for me. Though they could've picked a few better songs, but you know what... After not having Three Days Grace on rock band for over 4 years I'm fricken glad I finally get a little...

In other words:
Three. Days. Grace. In. Rock. Band. /drool

This. Except the part about buying the songs because I am poor lol. They are one of my favorite bands out there right now.

Also, they probably want to have some simple easy songs out there for pro guitar DLC. Scorehero members tend to prefer harder charts, but sometimes they might rather add pro to the easier song in a week to make sure we have a good balance of difficulty across pro DLC. I assume which songs they decide to give pro upgrades to is a pretty complex mix of popularity, difficulty, how noteworthy/interesting/prominent the guitar part is (a song with a famous riff is much more likely to get a pro upgrade than one with a less distinctive part), licensing, and just how much time the charters have.

I used to love Three Days Grace when One-X came out, I still do love that album, not so much their latest album though. Figures they pick the worst song off of One-X . Oh well, still cool to have TDG in RB, glad everyone doesn't hate them lol.

Never knew that BRODYQUEST was on RBN. Guess I'll have to get that.
