Ha, this is so true. My theory is that, at least when it comes to DLC announcements, I think it's more about the fact that the songs are not insert-your-favourite-band-here than what they actually are instead. Every week we want to see something we love get put in the game. If we don't, I think people sometimes channel that frustration into "Ugh, why is this shitty band in but not XYZ?!" That's my take on it anyway.
I just shrug, give my wallet a break and go back to playing the dozens of awesome songs I love that are already in the game. I mean seriously, at this point we've got 4.5 years and 3000+ songs to play with. If Harmonix literally stopped releasing DLC tomorrow (touch wood), I think I'd be pretty content to keep playing RB for fun with the huge variety of songs. New is shiny, but it's not like we don't have a lot of choice to work with already. Plus Dance Central, Rocksmith and, you know, all the other non-music games I have increasingly little time for. _________________

Not buying any of this release day (maybe down the line, dunno), but nice to see Pain get the protar upgrade. I expected it to be I Hate... but Pain probably has the most interesting guitar part of the pack, so that's cool. |

I hate this band, but the main riff of "The Good Life" should be really fun. |

I have to express this, I hate Three Days Grace. They are the kings of the post-grunge genre, but they are probably the least talented and varied within that genre against several other bands. All of their songs sound the same, they all bleed together in terms of pace, tone, lyrics, and instruments (With the exception of the bassline from Animal I Have Become)
I understand that this might be successful for Harmonix, considering the bizarre amount of requests they received and the fact they haven't been represented within Rock Band for you fans. But I believe that this pack is going to be dull, boring, and just forgettable in every sense of the word. Adam Gontier has only one singing style, so I even doubt if the vocals will offer any challenge.
It's a major skip, but I think anyone on the fence shouldn't take a chance because it really doesn't offer anything instrumentally. _________________

I always see this criticism of bands people don't like, but it's almost never accurate. The reason they bleed together for you, is because you don't like them. I fail to see how Riot sounds anything like Get Out Alive or how either song could be confused for On My Own. I'm a big fan of One-X as an album; not afraid to admit it. Their music may be formulaic, it may share similar themes and lyrical bases, but they don't "sound the same" unless you want them to.
That said, I'm not too interested in this pack because I don't like Good Life much, think Pain is a weaker track off One-X, and got my fill of I Hate... in Rocksmith. _________________

So is this two weeks in a row with no keys parts? Has that ever happened before? _________________
