I just moved to a new apartment and realized once I looked down, no carpet.
I have a modded dw pedal,
http://www.rockpalace.com/gfx_productcode/115952/DW-2000-Single-Drum-Pedal.jpg
That has velcro pads on the bottom so on my old carpeted floor, no problem.
Now I'm getting flashbacks of playing in my friends tile basement floor where 1 hit and it slides away from me.
What kind of mods/techniques can you guys suggest to keep this planted in one place? |

You could also try some non stick padding, rubber, etc. |

Yea.. We used to do this at a friends house. He'd position his chair against it, then complain if a song had a lot of bass.

Hmm, some rubber strips may help, on another little rubber placemat type thing perhaps.
I still play mostly heel down with the pedal aligned to the right of the kits feet. I do believe once I get a proper, non kitchen wooden chair, I can work on heel up a bit more. |

When I played on a hardwood floor, I put the drum kit on a little bathroom rug, with a rug pad (also called "rug gripper") underneath. _________________

This sounds fairly good. I recall seeing those rug pad type things here and there. Now that I may need it, I cant remember where I saw it.
I know someone that does facilities in the building so they can get carpet chunks fine. |

Get a peace of carpet that's big enough to go under your seat and your pedal. The weight from you should keep it in place |

I definitely need to get a drummer throne now as well.
I tried on my pc chair. Horror fest.
elbow hitting corner of desk or arm rest, wheels rolling around.
I found a spare bathroom mat set the wife bought, so the small wrap around toilet one I put under the pedal and 1 wheel and the other bigger mat under the whole chair. it worked fairly well. |
