Just to give an update, I've been heavily working on a solution for the past few weeks. When I'm done there will be tracking for all 187 scoreable combinations of instruments.

The interface will mimic the GH5 instrument selections, except it will exclude invalid combinations involving duplicate instruments (including pro variations) or vocals+(pro)guitar+(pro)bass+(pro)keys (i.e. if vocals is scored then you can't also have guitar, bass, and keys all being scored).

Ideally there would be a way to combine ranks across similar groupings in addition to the separated ranks, but there was unfortunately not even a relatively simple way to do that in the existing database. So my options were to track everything separately or to hand-pick certain combinations.

Because the competition is likely to be minimal in either case, I figured I would allow scores to be entered for everything to at least offer personal score-tracking abilities. That way in the future when things can be done differently, we'll have a larger pool of scores in the system.

Any progress on score tracking for bands?

I'm working on it right now. A lot of testing is being needed along the way as I'm refactoring a good chunk of existing code in preparation for the update, and finding other things breaking in the process.

It's hard to say when I'll be done, but if all goes well it could be up in a few days.

When entering scores, I noticed that there all Pro instruments are selected separately from normal instruments after selecting platform, but for vocals there's an extra setting of "Vocals Type" that appears afterwards. Is it possible to change this so that vocals works like the other instruments?

Okay, score-tracking for all "scoreable" combinations of Rock Band 3 instruments is now enabled.

Invalid combinations should be blocked, which include duplicate instruments (including pro/normal variations), and guitar+bass+keys+vocals (because if G+B+K are in session, then you must be in All-Instruments Mode where vocals is not scored).

The instrument selection is much like the GH5 interface, where you select your band size and then each individual instrument (in any order). Due to the way this is set up, I've added "Harmonies" to the list and removed the additional "Vocals Type" option as requested above.

A lot of code had to change to make this possible, so let me know if you encounter any issues.

Enjoy!

Suh

WEET

Put in a bunch of scores we'd stocked up, more to come. Thanks so much for putting in the time and effort to make this happen for full band enthusiasts like myself!

Inputting RBN scores for RB3 doesn't allow for Pro instruments of any kind.

I think the RBN/RB3 scoring is the RB2 scoring with Pro Keys added after the fact... that's why if you beyond one instrument there are no keys or pro options.
