you know whats funny...
this 'leaked list' was mentioned in the chicago sun times...heres a quote
'Meanwhile, over in the "Rock Band" camp: A hacker claimed to have found a list of downloadable songs that are planned for Electronic ARts/MTV's music game. An MTV spokesman told Wired.com that the list was real but that it was subject to change. So without naming specific cuts that may disappear, we can report that there's a ton of Grateful Dead, a pile of Nirvana and lots of 1990s alt-rock"

i thought it was funny

Apparently, on their MySpace page, they announced they'll be on the European edition of Rock Band

So, there might be a chance of DLC, but maybe not.

Forgive me if this has been said already, but I checked this thread after we found out, and google it. Then I found this...

I'm guessing it'll be on disc for the European version and DLC for US and stuff.

Yes I felt like bumping this. Also, anyone plan on checking the Grateful Dead DLC tomorrow?

As much as you may believe it true, quoting a question purely for added emphasis does NOT, in fact, make said question seem more urgent to the ones in a position to answer them.

This thread will get shutdown real quick if it degrades to incessant nagging for updates. If someone finds something of interest, they'll post it, or they won't, doesn't really matter either way.

It's worth noting at this point that, looking at the original list of "unknown" songs, well over 3/4 of them have been subsequently announced or released at this point. This lends some credibility to the list in terms of what songs will actually be released in the near future. There are some choice offerings that have me drooling, such as Pinball Wizard and Hysteria...

If someone would tell me how to do this, I'd happily check the DLC. I have it all.

It requires special hardware, or I would be all over it myself.

I would like a little more detail than theglow provided, but it seems all you would need is a SATA hookup on your computer. Disassemble the HDD, hook it up and use a couple of programs to look around.

*shrugs* but maybe it is harder than it seems.

I think that you need an Xport which is a port for your hard drive so that you can hook it up to your computer, it's kind of like a hacker's memory card. I have one but haven't bothered to check the songs out yet, as I think it requires some more proficient knowlege of computers and programs, though I might as well try.

This is the first DLC week in a while that has tracks that weren't in the original spa.bin. By that logic, this week's files have a new/updated spa.bin.

Therefore, this week's files might potentially have some new or interesting information to examine.
