Alright! Touch of Grey. Just in time for me to notice my new grey hairs front and center in my beard. I was gonna go buy some Just for Men (hair dye), but I'll have to reconsider after hearing this song again. _________________

I guess I'll look into it. |
the entire discography? lol good luck with that one. they have roughly 200 originals. |
http://www.dead.net/songs?apage=* lists 458. If all of the DLC for the next year were Grateful Dead, we MIGHT have them all by this time next year :-) We currently have about 1/6 of the Foo Fighters discography, we're 70 songs away from that on the Grateful Dead, even after next week's DLC :-) |
many of the songs on that list are traditional folk songs and covers, its really more like 185 by a quick count of originals in my copy of the complete annotated gd lyrics. |

Good to see the Grateful Dead return! I have to say that I don't listen to them a lot, but I did purchase the first pack and enjoyed it. I wasn't sure about the 2nd pack, but now that I'm listening to "Touch of Grey" the song does sound familiar to me. Should be neat seeing how the charts look (if anyone can get them up on YT without copyright issues).
On another note, are we going to see some new artists with a big pack? Other than Hendrix, Harmonix has been going on the same few artists for new songs, such as the Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam, No Doubt, etc. I would love to see a pack like this for bands that don't have a lot of DLC or a completely new band. I have nothing against Grateful Dead lol. _________________

Nile Nile Nile Nile Nile Nile NILE NILE NILE NILE NILE NILE--
*ahem*
But yeah, that was basically the point I was getting at in my post. I understand Foo Fighters and similar bands are popular, but it seems like the licenses to acquire the songs to use would be expensive, so looking for some talented bands that aren't always on the radio should be a win-win situation for Harmonix. I exaggerated about the discography release rate for Grateful Dead, yes, but I still think Harmonix should look into some underground artists. e.g. Nile. _________________

gonna have to go buy some points to get the Grateful Dead pack. I am a huge Dead fan and echo the sentiments in this thread about not having any live Dead in the game. Their studio work doesn't hold a candle to how much better they were in front of a live audience. a 15 min Scarlet>Fire would blow a lot of people away...
But I cannot complain because more Grateful Dead = win. I will be interested to see how the drums will be charted (the Dead had 2 drummers for all but a few years of their playing). First week I have been really really excited about in awhile! |

Don't really care for this week at all, good thing I'll have Red Dead Redemption and Alan Wake. I'm actually glad Harmonix didn't release stuff I like this week so I can have the chance to play some new games lol. _________________

So, how about that GD DLC?
I got the whole pack. I like it, the songs are fun. Touch of grey is not bad, but it does kind of feel weird since it's the studio version. _________________

Q4T!!! The only studio Grateful Dead I've ever bought/listened too is the Greatest Hits one. Live Dead would be so much more interesting to play on RB but that's not a complaint. Just a dream...
The drum charts are all very fun to play, there's some great solos for guitar and I always love playing Phil's basslines. Had to buy some more points to get the pack but it was well worth it! |

Wonderful all around on guitar, but FUCK U.S. BLUES ON DRUMS. Truckin' V2.
Also we need a live Scarlet Begonias. I saw Furthur last year and they really jam out to that song. |
