Wow, this is the smallest week in a while. Just meh in my opinion.
EDIT: Never mind, I guess there's Spongebob involved again.

As espher pointed out, he missed the Spongebob pack, so this week is pretty average in size.
And for the main post, here are the three spongebob tracks:
Employee of the Month
A Day like This
Ridin' the Hook
I DLed them with my leftover points, and they're all pretty easy on guitar, no surprise solos like the last Spongebob pack. Highlight is Ridin' the Hook, where your drummer sings some parts. In Patrick's voice. With my drummer, it was hilarious and terrifying in equal measures. |

dead leaves is listed in the HMX announce thread as being LRB compatible, but it's not in the LRB DLC section on XBL. so was it a typo in the announcement or another oversight? _________________

Ok, Icky Thump is a must-buy for me. I always wanted to have this song on GH/RB (didn't care which). 5 solos?!?! Crazy! But most aren't even on guitar (keyboard mostly). I'll love this one. BTW, is the singing talkies? _________________

So I didn't expect the White Stripes tracks to be too hot. But I saw that Icky Thump was devil tier guitar, and it was a neat surprise. I thought, "Wow." when I heard the keyboard charting. I actually found it quite reminiscent of the Alice Cooper tracks from back in May, like Vengeance is Mine. So if you liked those, you'll dig this.
Also more Spongebob = EPIC WIN. _________________

It's another oversight. Icky Thump is the only song this week that's not playable in Lego:RB (just as the announcement says). _________________

Nope, most of it is charted with pitch, with the exception of one verse I can remember (from "White Americans, what? Nothing better to do?" to "you can't be a pimp and a prostitute too.") |

okay, correct me if I'm wrong, but Club Foot's charting seems to be made of pure assininery.
I just saw them play it live (youtube video, whatever). reference: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HkT0G7ewzI0
The bass track in the verses seems to be charted to guitar (guitar plays along with bass, but note that the BASSIST does that slide up and down the fretboard, not the guitarist).
The bass is charted correctly, with the exception of that verse bit that is charted to guitar.. I always thought that the crazy strummy solo was guitar, since it sure as hell sounds like it, but judging by the live video it IS bass.
But yeah. WTF. Charting bass to bass is nice. Charting guitar to guitar is nice. Please don't get them mixed up.
As I said, if anyone has any new info to help me better understand this, let me know.
Edit: just played the bass track as well as the guitar. Yeah. Bass should be sixteenth note strumming in the verses, with the slide mixed in. Guitar is played in the verses live, but not in the album cut. So bass should be charted in the verses and guitar is silent. HMX reversed this.
Also, in the intro of the song, both guitar AND bass play the main riff, not just bass (at least as far as I can tell).
The OUTRO on bass is pretty much what the verses SHOULD look like, or at least close to it.
Also, the bass solo strumming is perfectly FC'able, although a bit tricky. |

To be honest, I didn't notice the bass part during the verses, but I didn't care too much. It is a pretty fun song on bass nonetheless. And yes, it's FCable stop asking _________________

Seeing as Club Foot was one of the songs that got me seriously interested in music, you may be able to see why I'd be judging it a little harshly.
It's just disappointing to see a song that holds such sentimentality to you so glaringly mischarted.
ANYWAYS.
As for the rest of the stuff, Smash it Up is generally pretty fun.
Spongebob wasn't particularly enjoyable (on guitar, some drums sound fun), but wasn't terribly offensive either. The songs weren't quite as memorable as pack 01, but oh well, spongebob still kicks ass.
The White Stripes... eh. I love them musically, but Dead Leaves was pretty boring on guitar, Girl, You have No Faith in Medicine was kind of awkward and repetitive, and Icky Thump was basically: boring verse, fun chorus, then cut up RTTH(OV)'s crazy solo and sprinkle parts of it throughout.
I mean, I love the White Stripes, but I can't see myself playing the guitar too much (except Icky Thump, but mostly because it's my favorite song of the three to listen to). |
