Ok so I have a ton of customs thanks to the fine people here at scorehero. But the problem is I do not know how to rate the songs as per its difficulty. Guitar more or less I can do because well I have been playing on expert since GH II ^_^ . But drums I'm still a little wet behind the ears and well vocals I havent even touched yet. So I was wondering if anyone has like a suggestion on how to rate the song? We could possibly create a guide on how to actually rate the songs.
When I rate an instrument's difficulty I just find a similarly-patterned official track and rank it the same. There's so many official and DLC charts out there that it's usually not a problem to find one. _________________

Ok so just play a similar song and copy that difficulty? And the band difficulty is just an average of the other instruments together am I right? _________________
I try to avoid averaging for a Band difficulty and instead judge it based on how difficult to pass it is for a full band. For example, if a track is 6-6-1-6 the average would round to a 5; however, that bassist playing a tier 1 track has a lot of easy overdrive that can help the rest of the team pull through and might drop the track to a 4 for the full band. _________________
Yeah like others said, look at a song that's like to the one you're trying to rate. Playing them doesn't hurt either, there's some stuff that looks simple to me when charting but ends up being hard to play. I think the best way is to play them yourself and go from there.
Tier 1 is really basic stuff, repetitive songs that are mainly hihat and snare end up here or in 0. Shouldn't even break a sweat playing tier 1s.
Tier 3 is about average difficulty, not too many crazy parts, fun without being hard. Maybe a few combo breakers here and there, if there's a lot of tricky spots, it goes into tier 4.
Tier 5 is pretty hard, a workout usually. If the song is really hard I put it here, unless it's just insane or requires a lot of stamina which goes in 6.
Rough guide, listing 0, 2 and 4 is kind of repetitive it's easier just to classify it as easy (0-2), medium (3-4) or hard (5-6).
ahh my post count is my birthday _________________
if there is ever a rock band customs database on scorehero, this would be a good function to include. the charter chooses a difficulty rating, but can also choose for other users to rate it themselves _________________
