- October 20th, 2012 -
So, I'm sure many of you have heard of the event Extra-Life.org does every year with gaming marathons. I know quite a few ScoreHeroes are doing their own marathons and collecting donations for charity. This year I decided to put together a full band to play for 12 hours and collect donations!
Anyway, here is our page: http://www.extra-life.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=donorDrive.participant&participantID=39525
Live Stream! http://www.twitch.tv/nikolai3035
I'm playing for the Dell Children's Medical Center of Central Texas and this was our lineup:
Drums: Nikolai3035
Bass: Hailz
Guitar: Ride the Piggy
Vocals: Ride the Piggy's wife
When it was all said and done, here were our stats for this past Saturday:
• We played from 12:00 noon CST to midnight CST, with a couple of short breaks
• We played somewhere between 107-115 songs
• We got gold stars as a band on at least 57 of those songs
• We only got one FBFC, which was Charlene, the very last song played exactly at midnight
• We completely switched instruments about 8 hours in, which led to a bit of a drop in our gold stars because we weren't on our best instruments
Anyway, thanks for your support. Anything at all helps!

For anyone who may have been paying attention to this thread, you'll know this weekend I went to Metal Mayhem in Dallas with Deschain, BrianBAM19, DragoonKain and my husband DeusExProcella to rock out for Child's Play charity. Turns out it was a fun night - not as many bands playing as we would have liked, but that just meant more songs for us!
Some highlights:
Welcome to the Black Parade with Brian and Stephanie singing
Paradise By the Dashboard Light with me and Kev singing
Singing Peace of Mind and surprising everyone by hitting all the high notes since I'm always so quiet <_<
Homecoming with 3 vocalists and me on guitar (I vocaltarred successfully on a song! Who knew? I probably listen to that song every day... haha)
Won't Get Fooled Again with Kev on drums and everybody whipping out sunglasses for the YEAAAH!
Finishing off with Good Riddance with all 5 people singing
Overall there was nothing too accomplishment worthy (score wise) that I did (other than singing in front of humans and not being thrown off the stage ), but Deschain FC'd a few impressive solos on the nice guitars we got to use and really blew the crowd away, and Kev was rocking the drums of course. Considering all the lights, sound and smoke we really did well and 5-starred everything we played just about (gold starred a couple too).
Aside from some miscellaneous swag (some nice LED lights from RockGear, for all those times I throw parties and need some party lights ), the coolest thing I got to bring home was this:
Pretty cool right? I'll probably find a way to mount it on my wall.
Did I mention it was signed by A7X?
More pics!
So yeah, that was a great success. I don't expect this to be the last update to my thread, but if nothing else I know we will be doing this again this year. If you can make it out, you're welcome to come along!

Finally finished it, both of us are physically exhausted now lol The encore performance of Limelight and Move Along certainly didn't help lol
Tons of 5 and Gold stars Very productive. Gonna do it again now! [/joking] |
