|
|
Has anyone figured out a way to loosen the pedal's spring or to modify it in some other way to reduce the force needed to depress it?
I'm trying to beat Don't Fear The Reaper on Expert right now and I feel that the pedal is too tight. I can play the song once, maybe twice and then my leg is shot for the rest of the night. I can't imagine my leg is THAT weak considering I've beaten many other songs up to this point without my leg dying out. I'm talking about the verse, here, too. Not even talking about the crazy solo.
I've tried heel down, heel up, etc etc and nothing helps much. |

I remember reading someone took something like garbage/bread twist ties and put some pressure on it and then tied it on 2 sides to just hold a couple sections together tight.
Dont know how kosher that is. I was thinking similar when my new pedal came in.
maybe tie string between 2 spots and pull on it with a slipknot or such. |

i tried tieing a spring, didnt work and makes it feel real yucky and weird.... you could always take it out and buy a shorter one at a hardware store, or you could trim it down a bit _________________

man up!
heh heh heh
I kid...haven't tried Reaper on expert yet, nor much else.
I wanna try the real kick pedal/reed relay mod, cuz you're right...the spring is hella tight.
Maybe try keeping the foot down mostly, between notes _________________

I did this a few weeks ago after I beat the game on Expert... really decreased my leg fatigue.
All you have to do is pull the spring out,
Get a pair (or two) of Vice Grips, and a few strong Zip Ties,
Pinch TWO (just two, not three) coils together, and bind them with the zip ties (the closer the two coils the better)
Then the spring will still bounce your pedal up to full height but be much easier to depress. |
