I don't understand this.
They said the 20 songs were originally for RB2 right?
Then why, oh why, have people been thinking they'd be by bands that are already in RB2, as in on-disc.
Anyone think this? _________________

Because you are allowed to have two songs by the same band on the same disc. World Tour has three Tool songs. _________________

Doesn't really matter if they're the same band, one band can have more than one good song _________________

Yes, but Rock Band has never done it, they just release the other songs they get as DLC. Furthermore, how could a band have trouble licensing one song, but not the other? |

They might be, they might not be. Nothing official has been announced and most of the "reliable" rumoured lists have had songs released as paid DLC released already.

Huh? I don't know, you started the thread. Are you replying to someone's thoughts in particular?

Different labels, different writing credits, different performers on the master tracks... lots of reasons. |

What question are you answering exactly?
edit: I guess you were just saying you don't care what was on the disc in respect to artist repeats for DLC as long they aren't all like visions. Sounded like you weren't talking about DLC, that's all.

Yeah I believe there was a quote that said there were no artist repeats from on-disc. |

And I ask again OP, why are you asking this question? Is it based on some particular quote or thoughts or rumours that there are artist repeats in the free DLC? |

i'm 99% positive that HMX hasn't given even the slightest hint as to what the 20 free songs will be. |

I do think I remember some sort of HMX (but not official press release style, and therefore subject to change) quote about no repeat artists... have'n a search for it now.
But whether or not I'm right, the question of why the thread exists still stands. Like if I started a thread complaining about too much ice cream in my house (there's no ice cream in my house). |

I always figured one of the reasons they'd hold a song off of the disc is because, uh, they already have a song by that band on the disc.
So, your reasoning for why they wouldn't be in the 20 may actually be the reason why they ARE in the 20. |
