Wow, that is interesting. I take it you were using the les paul or xplorer? I wonder if the strat behaves differently, though I'd doubt it. Though maybe the visual/aural indications are just off and it is actually still computing strums?

I've never gotten more than a 2 or 3 note streak through the fast part in solo 2 GGaHT, and I'm good at fast strumming. Ive been meaning to take it to practice.

Something I have noticed is that sometimes when I want to go straight from a song to practice mode, I'll strum like mad to fail (to get to the "go to practice" option) and the meter doesn't drop at all- I have to slow my strums for it to register them.

You can comb those parts in GG&HT however. I did it on 90% speed on bass, semi-consistently on 70%. Full speed is a different story.

Video is uploading now to demonstrate, although I did pretty shitty cause I've been playing Metallica bass for the past hour .

Edit: Video

now, is it the controller that has the limit, or the game?

I thought something was up with that streak in GGnHT.
I would go fastest, fast, etc. Change it up. Also see at least 2-3 notes fly by.
I just chalked it up to the Strat.
I never got around to testing it on the xplorer.

its BARELY possible... you almost have to start strumming early and end late.

There's an even easier way to see this. Play a big rock ending and try to consistently switch notes from orange to blue to yellow to red (and maybe to green as well.) You will skip over colors unless you go really slowly. Considering the rows fade to a dark color, I'm assuming you get more points for keeping everything "lit", but it's difficult to do with a limit on strum frequency.

The limit appears to be software imposed. I connected the strat to my mac with the 360 controller driver and did some crazyfast strumming. It registers every up and down strum no matter how fast I go. The limit could still be imposed by the 360 itself.

I myself can't test the PS2/3 version similarly, can anyone else comment on those?

Pretty sure it's a software limit that's a byproduct of an attempted fix for guitars double strumming. Anyone want to see if the strum limit is still present on an unpatched game?
